Do you miss those crispy noodles you used to place on top of chow mein? I am often asked for a recipe for these and usually refer everyone to the batter that Gluten Free Chef Rob uses for his crispy onion rings, minus a few seasonings. However, I thought it was time to publish an authentic-style recipe using homemade chow mein dough. I hope you enjoy these crispy, gluten free chow mein noodles. They go well with Asian dishes or many other gluten free recipes. We sure did!

To make great-tasting gluten free chow mein recipe you need the same ingredients as its gluten counterpart. It's all in the quality of noodles you use. I use brown rice spaghetti, however, using spaghetti containing corn is more authentic. Heartland's gluten free spaghetti is excellent. Quality brands of brown rice spaghetti include Tinkyada and Jovial. Add this recipe to your easy gluten free recipes as it cooks up fast. Enjoy!

Gluten Free Chicken and Pineapple Stir Fry

When you take a bite of this main dish, you first hit a bit of barely noticeable heat, multiple flavors of sweet vegetables, and succulent pineapple chunks. The sauce is not too thick, providing an incredible taste and texture. People are always pleasantly surprised how much they enjoy this recipe.

Image: Gluten Free Moo Shu Beef

I originally went gluten free in 2005. I have long since given up on eating out at Chinese restaurants other than PF Chang's. They serve sumptuous gluten free Chinese food, but most dishes are extremely high in calories. So, I often make my Chinese food at home instead. Moo shu is usually served with pork; however, I used beef in this recipe. You may serve it over rice or make it low-carb by serving it over sauteed vegetables. You can even use it to stuff a gluten free tortilla or pita pocket. You can make a low-carb meal by serving it over vegetables versus rice. Made with top sirloin, it is exceptionally tender and delicious.

Chinese BBQ Pork

This Chinese BBQ pork recipe may be made soy free when using my soy free barbecue sauce recipe which calls for my soy free soy sauce recipe; or with the use of any gluten free soy sauce or barbecue sauce. Traditionally, Chinese BBQ pork does not call for tomatoes or ketchup, though some use it. This recipe is tomato free. And if you're not on a gluten free diet, of course, use may use any brands you desire. This recipe calls for a slow cooker (crockpot), and may be followed by broiling the meat which is optional. As you can see in the photo it is sticky and you may make it crisp on the outside, if you wish. No matter how you prepare it, in the end it is flavorful, inside and out. I made this especially for my experiment with gluten free egg rolls. Stay tuned in once the recipe is perfected. This Chinese BBQ pork recipe truly is a delight. Bring Chinese food back to your life with this delicious gluten free recipe!
