RECIPES:

Slow Cooker Gluten Free Brownies

To avoid summer heat in the kitchen, baking brownies in a slow cooker is ideal. The slow cooking and most environment creates  moist and tender brownies. This version of slow cooker gluten free brownies are decadently rich. A better name for them may be truffle brownies. They are absolutely yummy and their height is about 1 3/4-inch.

Slow Cooker Gluten Free Rump Roast

I've been a bit nostalgic lately after seeing Rain: A Tribute to the Beatles. I've been playing old songs in my head ever since. Remember Simon & Garfunkel's hit song, "Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme"? Well, these wonderful seasonings can make your slow cooker rump roast a hit, as well. And it can easily be made gluten free.

Gluten Free Corned Beef, Cabbage, Carrots and Potatoes

Every year around this time, my mom used to make corned beef and cabbage. It wasn't until recently that I realized it wasn't named Corn Beef and Cabbage. I didn't realize the beef was "corned". The "ed" makes total sense. I'm not alone, though, and either are you if you didn't know this. There are over 18,000 people each month that search for "gluten free corn beef" via Google.

Meanwhile, this recipe is a classic. You can't do much wrong other than under cook it. I've taken a shortcut, though. Mom made it on the stovetop and I've used a slow cooker/crockpot instead. If you've never had homemade corned beef and cabbage (it's available in a can, who knew?), you're missing out on some deliciousness. If you enjoy bacon, you'll most likely enjoy corned beef. The one I purchased contain no MSG or nitrates. It's usually cured with salt and water only. It's perfect for a weekend or or weekday since all you have to do is remove the fat and throw everything in a slow cooker. Corned beef and cabbage is a St. Patrick's Day tradition. I'll be enjoying leftovers on March 17! How about you?

Southwestern Gluten Free Tri-Tip

There is nothing like super tender beef. However, a tri-tip slow cooker recipe makes the best! It is flavorful and juicy. Add some typical southwestern spices and you have yourself a unique and delicious dish. Enjoy!

Image: Gluten Free Bread Pudding

I was honored with the task of developing a recipe for the KitchenAid 6-Quart Slow Cooker with Easy Serve Lid. The baker in me said it had to be a gluten-free baked good. With holiday season upon us I decided on a gluten free bread pudding, as it is a very versatile recipe. However, I baked the gluten free breadenter called for in this recipe in the slow cooker, as well. It rises and bakes right in the slow cooker, without any help from you. Just set it in, cover and bake, all in one step! How convenient is that?

Image: Gluten Free Pot Roast with Potatoes, Carrots and Brown Gravy

KitchenAid has requested that I develop a recipe for them using their 6-Quart Slow Cooker with Easy Serve Lid. Though this is not the recipe I am creating for them, I had to share my gluten free pot roast recipe with you, which is what I made using their slow cooker yesterday. I hope you enjoy it, especially the gluten free beginners.
