When you just cannot deal with rolling a double gluten free pie crust, these mini fried gluten free pies are ideal. However, unlike pie crust, they are crunchy. You may fill them with sweet or savory fillings. For my test recipe I just used Comstock fruit pie filling. Both Comstock and Wilderness brands are gluten free. These little gems are similar to empanadas (Spanish pies), but instead of baking them, you fry them. When empanadas are made in smaller sizes to serve as appetizers, such as these, they are named tapas. Fried Gluten Free Ravioli

This is a perfect way to use leftover store-bought or homemade ravioli. While you do not have to make homemade breadcrumbs or pizza sauce, they both are delicious additions. Serve as appetizers or main course.

I enjoy using them as an alternative to Totino’s pizza rolls. They truly make an amazing appetizer. Fill them with beef, cheese, or your favorite pizza toppings and serve with a simple marinara sauce, or your favorite gluten-free pizza sauce. Freezing the ravioli prior to and after breading make them crispier. However, if you’re not a crispy lover, skip the freezing. Either way, what’s not to enjoy? Gluten Free Lumpia and Dipping Sauce

While I already have a gluten free egg rolls recipe on this site, this gluten free lumpia recipe is a bit different. The filling and dipping sauce is spiced with garlic, and the sauce has strong accents of garlic and soy sauce. I usually make my egg rolls filled with ground pork, vegetables, and scrambled eggs and my spring rolls with all vegetables. This lumpia is filled with ground beef and vegetables, though you may use pork, shrimp, and more, as well as just vegetables. Either way, they are crispy and delicious as well as the sauce. Thin Soft Gluten Free Wraps

These gluten free wraps are soft and pliable, and that’s not all. They are packed with protein. They fall somewhere between a tortilla and a crepe. Don’t allow the fava bean flour to scare you off, if you have tried other bean flours and they were bitter. Fava bean is very mild and not bitter at all. Combining beans with eggs boosts the nutrient values in the beans as eggs are a complete protein (contains all essential amino acids). This recipe is gum-free and grain-free. I am honored to present this gluten free cracker recipe that I developed for WholeVine. They offer grapeskin and grapeseed flour made from wine grape remnants as well as gluten free cookies. A couple of months ago I surveyed my Facebook followers for their favorite wine, and Riesling was the winner. So, I used Riesling grapeseed flour in this gluten free cracker recipe. However, they offer several other varieties, including grapeseed flour. Just be sure not to use grapeseed flour in this recipe as additional liquid ingredient would be required. Fried Gluten Free Mozzarella Sticks Recipe

My husband’s favorite junk food snack is onion rings. He’s never had fried cheese, though. So I just had to create a gluten free mozzarella sticks recipe. It’s crunchy and flavorful. If you want them to have a deeper color, use the chili powder. To make them yellow, add a bit of turmeric. You can spice them up or give them an Italian flare. They make great appetizers or snacks. To provide flavor, add a bit of grated parmesan cheese. If you use the shaker kind, be sure to use a gluten-free brand such as Kraft. They’re also awesome dipped in the batter and then rolled in bread crumbs. That provides more texture. I also have a Gluten Free Cheese Sticks Recipe using bread crumbs. With summertime approaching, and our already warm weather, I am picturing backyard barbecues and picnics on the horizon. What better way to celebrate than with a healthier snack. Rather than reaching for processed potato chips, or expensive natural ones, you can make your own right at home. The great thing about homemade sweet potato chips is that they are lower in carbohydrates compared to regular chips. When making them at home you can use a healthier oil, as well.
