This creamy black bean dip recipe has tones of hummus, but much more flavor. I have listed a couple of brands of gluten free tortillas and crackers that will compliment this dip perfectly. Use the brand of black beans that I have listed which are safe for those with gluten intolerance. They are offered in organic, traditional, and fat-free. Enjoy!
[showmyads]
A mild, yet zesty black bean dip that is as creamy as avocado.
Ingredients:
- 1 15-oz. can La Preferida Organic Refried Black Beans (or traditional or fat-free)
- 2 Tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 1 1/4 teaspoons ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/8 teaspoon fine sea salt
- 1/8 teaspoon hot sauce, or to taste
- 5 drops liquid stevia
Instructions:
- Add all of the ingredients to a bowl and using an immersion/handheld blender, puree the mixture until smooth. Set aside to rest to for 15 minutes.
- Serve with your favorite gluten-free crackers such as Glutino's Tortilla Dippers, or Van's Natural Crackers (Fire Roasted Veggie and Everything are my faves).
Tips
Feel free to substitute lemon juice or the vinegar of your choosing for the balsamic vinegar. When using lemon juice you can omit the stevia, too.
If using fat-free black beans, consider adding a bit of olive oil.
