What an incredible raw food cookbook! And not only do I review it, but the publisher is sponsoring a gluten free giveaway, as well! You’ll love Eat Raw, Eat Well whether you are just vegan, just raw or just gluten free, but all 3? – it’s a must have – with 400 recipes! The author, Douglas McNish is a chef, cooking teacher and raw food consultant. He’s super passionate about what he does and how he helps the physical and mental well-being of others, after improving upon his own health through weight loss and eating nutritious food. He’s even a two-time vegan iron chef winner, and a Certified Red Seal professional Vegan Chef.
When you heat food to over 118°F, others say (115°F), it removes the nutrients your body needs which may prevent disease. Others like eating raw because of weight loss. Either way, raw food is becoming more and more popular every day.
What’s can you find in Eat Raw, Eat Well?
- Herbed Pumpkin Seed Flatbread
- Buckwheat, Sunflower and Almond Breadsticks
- Apple Chia Crackers
- Avocado Fries
- Buckwheat and Sunflower Seed Pizza Crust
- Morning Energy Bars
- Garlic Spinach and Mushroom Tarts
- No-Crab Cakes
- Cinnamon Raisin Flax Bagels
- Lemon Cucumber and Dill Soup
- Meatloaf
- Red Beet Ravioli
- Kale Waldorf Salad

Perhaps you didn’t expect to be able to make crunchy crackers or breads that are raw. With a few simple tools you can make just about anything you can make that is cooked. All you need to make the basics is a knife and cutting board. And if you desire, you can go all out and get a high speed blender, food processor or a dehydrator, making it all possible. Chef McNish is a culinary genius! However, eating raw can be as simple as eating raw food, but with his added touches you’ll become a culinary genius yourself!
Not only are there recipes in Eat Raw, Eat Well, but the he tells you how to equip a raw food kitchen, how best to purchase raw ingredients, how to transition to a raw food diet, and much more.
It is evident that each and every recipe was created by a culinary chef, as they are flavorful, creative and aesthetic (appealing to the eye, like a form of art). If I were going raw, this is how I would choose to go! – with Chef Douglas McNish by my side all the way! Kudos to him and his creativeness!

… oh, and I already <3 you on FB :)
I would love to win this book- the one raw cookbook I do have contains so many recipes requiring a dehydrator that I was far too overwhelmed to actually make anything out of it. I don’t have a dehydrator, and didn’t think it was going to be that hard to incorporate more raw foods into my diet :( Hopefully this one is more encouraging!
I liked Robert Rose books on Facebook. My name is Laurie White on Facebook. I’m not sure if that is what you mean by user name Facebook but that name appears on my Facebook page. In my url the name is parkwhite.

Please enter me in this contest. Due to health issues both my husband and I want to change our eating habits and eating raw really sound like the way to go. It is the only eating plan he has shown any interest in, so having this book will go a very long way in makng this a successful venture for us both.
After having difficulties with my intestines after a prolonged hospitalization, I asked my doctor what it might be. He decided to test for food allergies, and, GOSH, am I glad he did. I’ve found that I’m allergic to gluten and casein. It has not been easy in my area to find (other than the whole food co-ops) ready to eat foods that are not expensive or tasteless. I’m learning to cook, eat healthy (for the first time in my 50 years), and actually enjoy what I’m eating!
I have so many food allergies that it is easier for me to list what I can eat rather than what I can’t. I find I use Raw cookbooks as a guide to eating that taste wonderful. I am addicted to zucchini noodles. I love raw cheese cake. And even my family is amazed when I make things and they love them. That is why I need this cook book. At the moment I don’t actually own a Raw cookbook. I get info and recipes on line or from the library. I really want the book. So please consider me. Thank you!

Would love to win! I think this giveaway is for the cookbook, not the “One mixed box of 12 NuGo Slim Bars”as stated under the prize, even that will be good also.
Thanks for noticing the error. The prize has now been updated to one copy of “Eat Raw, Eat Well”. Thanks again!
That’s no problem. You are very welcome.
My facebook name is: rainbowtune. And, I already like GF Carla! Her recipes are grand!
Would love to win – just got a new dehydrator and would love to make the crackers and more! Cannot find great “bread” or other carb items that are easy and tasty. Would love to win this to add to my collection – it would be my first official “raw”-book!
