Kellogg’s Gluten Free Rice Krispies Review and Breakfast Giveaway ($70 Value)

In honor of National Celiac Awareness Month, Kellogg’s ® is sponsoring Gluten Free Rice Krispies ® giveaways across multiple gluten free blogs. They first partnered up with dietitian,  Tricia Thompson, MS, RD, to debunk gluten free myths. Read all about it on The New York Times website: A Favorite American Food Helps Families Living A Gluten-Free Lifestyle During National Celiac Awareness Month. I was one of the gluten free blogs asked to spread the word, not only to raise awareness, but they are also sponsoring an incredible giveaway, as well! And it’s not all Rice Krispies. It’s an entire Breakfast Kit, which they sent to me as well! While the Rice Krispies were Snap! Crackle! and Pop! ‘in, I was snapping photos. See them below, as well as the Breakfast Kit.

There’s a kid in all of us. When I first received my Rice Krispies Breakfast Kit my first thought was that of when I was a child. I would have loved to have owned my own Rice Krispies bowl! The next thought was, “I have to send these to my grandchildren. They will love them!” The bowls have three decades of the Snap!™ Crackle!™ Pop!™ characters from the 1940s, 1970s and 2000′s.

It was so fun to set the table with all of the high quality placements I was sent, along with the personally embossed napkins with an “S” for Spacher, napkin rings, Rice Krispies cereal bowls and my very own Rice Krispies coffee mug! – and let’s not forget the main star, a box of Gluten Free Rice Krispies! I can picture the lucky winner feeding their kids Rice Krispies and drinking a cup of coffee, or herbal tea in my case, in this mug, while their kids eat Gluten Free Rice Krispies from the new, fun bowls! So fun!

The Review

With no more kids at home anymore, Kellogg’s Gluten Free Rice Krispies are just how I remembered the gluten ones to be…Snap! Crackle! and Pop! – but much louder than I remember! It seemed extra fresh! I defrosted some frozen strawberries and topped it off with some birch derived xylitol – no sugar here! It was delicious!

I am supposed to stay away from anything with preservatives due to my multiple food allergies, but in this day and age, it’s hard to avoid sometimes. However, I do indulge here and there, and this day was one of them. And my taste buds were so glad that I did! The texture of the brown rice krispies appeared to be more substantial and filling than the regular ones I remember. Brown rice contains more fiber than white rice, therefore a healthier choice. If I had kids at home still I’d feed them the gluten free version versus the regular any day!

It’s wonderful that Kellogg’s has provided our gluten intolerant/sensitive and celiac community with a gluten free brand name cereal that we can trust. Every lot of Gluten Free Rice Krispies are tested for gluten cross-contamination under 20 ppm (parts per million).

Gluten Free Rice Krispies Ingredients:

Whole grain brown rice, sugar, contains 2% or less of salt, BHT for freshness.

Vitamins and Minerals: Iron, vitamin C (ascorbic acid), vitamin E (alpha tocopherol acetate), niacinamide, vitamin A palmitate, vitamin B6 (pyridoxine hydrochloride), folic acid, Vitamin D, Vitamin B12.

I must have forgotten after all these years!
