Margie’s Gluten Free Cookie Dough Review and Giveaway

A fairly new kid on the block, Margie’s Gluten Free, makes 4 different flavors of prepared cookie dough. Isn’t that wonderful? I remember when I was in a rush to make cookies, I used to be able to go to the store and just pick up a package. Well, now you can quickly make cookies again with Margie’s dough.

They test their products through the University of Nebraska (top gluten-free testing lab) and are found to be below 15 ppm (parts per million). They also get quarterly visits from the Celiac Sprue Association. In addition, they do not use eggs which makes them very stable (do not easily spoil). The first sample I was given at a trade show stayed in my refrigerator for about 2 month before I baked them and they were just fine. Another perk is that they are made with all natural ingredients and natural flavorings. You’ve just have to try them!

THE REVIEW

Because they contain tapioca flour and I recently discovered I’m allergic, my husband was gladly up for taste-testing, though I tasted . He loves cookies! He went on and on and asked so many questions about the lemon cookies. He said they were the best. They actually have chunks of dried lemon in them. there really is no skimping on anything with Margie’s gluten free cookie dough.

Because they do not use eggs, the cookies are heavier than normal ones without eggs, but it just makes them that more rich.

I just loved the fact that all I had to do was scoop them onto a cookie sheet and bake for a few minutes! How easy is that?

Tip: I stored mine in the refrigerator. If you allow them to come to room temperature first, or roll them long enough in your hands, you’ll achieve a better spread of the cookies. When dough is refrigerated the dough will not spread at all.

Allergen warnings: Either contains or made on equipment that uses Milk, Soy, Tree Nuts and Eggs.

  69. I have the hardest time making gluten-free cookies. For some reason, they become flat and lacy. 1. Hi Laurie,

I just added where to purchase in the blog above. Thanks for reminding to add this. Because it’s not available everywhere, you may have to request it from your local grocer. That’s what it takes for all new products from small businesses, and that’s how they become big businesses, which you probably already know. :-)

      Carla

  78. I would love to win this giveaway because it is very hard for me to find Good gluten free cookie dough that has NATURAL ingredients instead of so many preservative and other unhappy ingredients that I prefer not to put into my body. I am also really excited about the Lemon Cookie Dough ad the Almond Cookie dough. I haven’t had a good Lemon cookie since I had to go gluten free. :( I miss them sooo much!

  79. My mom and I would always make bunches (or should I say “batches”) of cookies for Christmas to give to relatives. One Christmas we made 29 different kinds of cookies, most of them double batches!! Cookies are a very happy memory for me with my mom, who is now in assisted living because of alzheimer’s. By the way, my mom’s name is also Margie .. could it be a sign?? :)

  80. I’ve been gluten free for over 2 years and I am a cookie dough lover! As a college student, I used to buy prepackaged cookie dough and multiple pots of coffee to get through long study nights…seeing as how I can’t really do that anymore, but instead have to make it myself, I would love to get my hand on some pre-made gluten free cookie dough!! :) :) :)

  81. I would LOVE to win this because I miss participating in “cookie Friday” at work (I work at my kiddos’ school) and this would let me do just that. I could store one in the fridge and make some of my own…..right there at work. How cool would that be! Plus, I could just make a few at a time and not a whole batch (thus I would not be tempted to eat the whole batch at one time! LOL)
