“The Gluten Free Baking Book” Review

Months ago I was sent a copy of “The Gluten Free Baking Book” to review. Unfortunately, it sat awaiting my attention. If I would have known how great of a cookbook this really is, I would have opened it immediately. The color photos, alone, will have you drooling! The book is written by the well versed gluten-free authors, Donna Washburn and Heather Butt. Read on to learn what’s inside!

The Gluten Free Baking Book Review

The thing I like most about this cookbook is that it provides only “small batch recipes”, which is perfect for just my husband and I. As most of you know, gluten-free baked goods go stale very quickly. Why bother freezing or having to toast or reheat your baked goods when you can make smaller batches and have them fresh?

Having fresh baked goods and small batches is one thing, but take special note that your choices are not limited here. The book provides a total of 250 gluten free recipes! And not only do they provide the recipes, but the basic of learning how to bake gluten free. Everything from the pans you use to the nutrient content of gluten free flours.

The chapters include:

  • No-Knead Yeast Breads
  • No-Knead Pizzas and Flatbreads
  • No-Knead Hearth Breads and Rolls
  • Yeast-Free Breads, Scones and Bisquits
  • Quick Breads and Muffins
  • Cookies and Bars
  • Cakes and Cupcakes
  • Pastry and Tarts
  • Cobbler, Crisps, Puddings and Dessert Sauces
  • Holiday Baking

From the above, you may get the idea that the book is just a bunch of cakes, cupcakes and bread, but it is so much more! Every time I open a page, a mouth watering recipes catches my eye, such as Roasted Red Pepper and Shrimp Bruscheta, Mini Quiches Loraine, and Bacon and Cheddar Corn Bread, Dinner Rolls, Quinoa Flax Cookies and 244 more!

From healthy to decadent, you’ll find it in The Gluten Free Baking Book, published by Robert Rose!
