I cannot tell you what a delight this recipe is. As an oat, pear, and pistachio lover, the apples are just an added bonus for me. Oats are so healthy for you, with the exception of those who are oat intolerant. For dairy-free dieters, all you have to do is substitute the butter for a dairy-free buttery spread, and you’re good to go. Enjoy!

Sugar-Free Gluten-Free Pear Apple Pistachio Crisp

Sugar-Free Gluten-Free Pear Apple Pistachio Crisp


  • 2 Tablespoons stevia
  • 3 Tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 Tablespoon fresh orange zest
  • 3 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and cut into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 3 pears, peeled, cored, and cut into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 1/2 cup gluten-free all purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped pistachios
  • 1/4 cup gluten-free oats
  • 2 Tablespoons freshly squeezed orange juice


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Prepare a baking dish with nonstick baking spray.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine stevia, 1 tablespoon melted butter, cinnamon and orange zest. Add apples and pears; gently toss to combine. Transfer mixture to the prepared baking dish.
  3. In a small bowl, combine gluten-free flour, pistachios, gluten-free oats, and remaining butter. Using your fingers, mix to form a crumb texture; sprinkle over apples. Drizzle with freshly squeezed orange juice. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes or until bubbling. Uncover and bake for another 20 minutes.
  4. Remove from oven; set aside to cool for 10 minutes before serving.
