Changes Ahead and Thank You’s

If you haven’t read my latest newsletter yet, do that now. There, you can learn why I am turning this blog into a membership site. I appreciate all of the emails of support! It touched me so much and made me feel better about my decision. It was either have a membership site or nothing at all.

I do not have a price set yet as my research is not complete on the overhead for the new site and neither for the development. I would, however, like to take this opportunity to express thanks to those who wrote to me with good wishes, support, and advice. See below for a few or go directly to the last paragraph for my thanks.

UPDATE: The price is now set. See my newsletters here.

“I’ve enjoyed MANY of your recipes and understand the problem of hackers messing up your site.  I’d be interested in your membership.  I have only a part-time job and Social Security, so I can’t pay a lot, but I’d like to get the information. You are wonderful to allow people to download your recipes prior to the membership taking effect.  How generous of you!  You have a good heart.”

“Your website is worth a fee!…I am a pastry chef and had a life-changing diagnosis last year…I could not imagine wanting to bake again. But I am back baking!”

“I hope you keep the price VERY low, as I am disabled with Crohn’s disease and chronic pain. Maybe you can even consider a pay scale making it less for those who truly need your site. It has been a lifesaver for me. Thanks so much. I think you can charge more for an annual fee, I was hoping for $1 a month or $12 a year. However do consider charging even more for people without disabilities. You can ask for a copy of a Medicare card for proof, giving a seniors a break too…”

“People can be idiots; your blog/website is very substantial and they are not going to find such indepth information anywhere else. The nature of the internet has created an idea that everything on it should be free…some things are worth paying for.”

I’m sorry to hear that you have been hacked. Hard to understand the behaviour of some people. I’m sure your site users appreciate all the work you do.”

“I would like to thank you for all the wonderful recipes that you have given us in the past. I have very good luck with your recipes. Every one has turned out well so far. The yearly fee you are asking is less the the price of a small cookbook and I am sure there will be more recipes that I will be able use than the average cookbook. I will gladly pay the yearly fee to have some variety in what I can eat.   Thank you again for helping me deal with being gluten sensitive.”

Thank you all so very much! You warmed my heart through and through. When bloggers put themselves out there, we place ourselves in the hands of the public. Some people just don’t understand that bloggers are human, not some fictitious company. I am so fortunate to have people like you all in my life.

  • I am interested in the membership, especially to be able to get it for $12.99 on Monday, but your newsletter stated that you don't accept PayPal at this time, unless we wrote you to let you know that we would like to be able to use PayPal. I would like to use PayPal. Is there any way that this could be done before Monday? Thank you.

    • Mary,

Memberships are available to everyone in every country. I just pay a higher credit card fee for those who are outside the United States, but I've taken that into account. Memberships will be available beginning Monday, January 11 for $12.99 that day only. Thereafter, memberships will cost $19.99.

Please take into account that my measurements are in cups, not weight. However, there is a conversion chart at http://glutenfreerecipebox.com/gluten-free-flour-conversion-chart/ .

      I hope this helps.

      Carla
