I was asked to create a gluten free recipe video for an upcoming women’s health summit; however, it was postponed. Here is the first half of the video showing you how I make my Gluten Free Oat Bread Recipe in a Bread Machine (using sugar or honey). I hope this helps you in your gluten free baking. Note: To make this recipe dairy-free, just omit the non-fat dry milk. You can also substitute the water with rice milk. To make this recipe oat-free, substitute the oat flour with sorghum flour and use 2 additional tablespoons of oil.

  • Diagnosed with gluten intolerance along with potato intolerance is challenging to find recipes that do not include potato starch but are yet delicious! Please lmk if there are any suggestions you have with baking/cooking gluten free in recipes while leaving out potato! Any thoughts would be appreciated. Not member yet but considering as I watched bread machine video - very informative/easy understand recipe (of which potato starch was part of this recipe). Also cinnamon/raisan bread is favorite in our family as well as other breads. Appreciate any feedback!

    "This is THE BEST tasting gluten free bread I have ever made. My son has Celiac and I am always looking for recipes for him that taste good. This is the best bread yet! But I am having trouble getting the crust right with the bread machine. The medium setting is too light on top of loaf and the dark setting is too dark on bottom of loaf. I am using a Cuisinart machine that I just received for Christmas. Also, any other alternatives to the flaxseed. I love flaxseed (especially the golden) but I read on your website that too much is not great for us?

    My Answer:

    I am so happy to hear that you enjoyed the oat bread recipe. I make one or two loaves per week. We love it, better than store-bought gluten bread (back in the day). Did you use oat or sorghum flour?

    Each machine is different. On some machines, the only way to get the top brown is to place it in your oven under a broiler. I don't have that problem with the Breadman. A matter of fact, sometimes the crust is too hard and I have to tent it with foil to create steam. That softens it up nicely.

    I use the flaxseed meal despite my article. It’s not that much. Well, it’s not much for me as I don’t eat a lot of bread. My husband does. I haven’t tried it, but you can try to use chia seeds as a replacement for the flax seeds.
