Do you have any apples that you do not want to waste? Make some delicious homemade applesauce with this easy recipe. You can make a great dessert with it, eat it plain, or even top your ice cream. My specific goal for this recipe was to make just enough applesauce for a gluten-free applesauce coffee pudding cake which I will post next.

Yield: Makes 1 cup

Gluten free applesauce sweetened with agave nectar/syrup.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 large red Delicious apples, peeled and chopped (appx. 2 cups)
  • 1/2 cup filtered water
  • 1 Tablespoon agave syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Add all ingredients to a medium-size saucepan and cook over medium heat about 20 minutes or until very tender, stirring occasionally.
  2. Run through food processor until smooth.
  3. Serve cool or warm.
