Gluten Free Eggnog Martini

This cocktail recipe is not only delicious but creates a festive holiday mood. The addition of a brown sugar rim shows you went to the extra effort and you care about your guests. Not to mention, it’s simply delicious! Also learn some brands of vodka derived from gluten-free grains or one that is completely grain-free; and the gluten free amaretto brands. Cheers!

Yield: Makes 2 martinis

A gluten free eggnog martini recipe using only the safest of Amaretto and vodka brands. Now you'll be ready for the holidays, if you can wait.

Ingredients:

5 oz. gluten free eggnog
2 oz. vodka*
3/4 oz. gluten free Amaretto**
1/4 cup brown sugar, to garnish glass rims
Nutmeg, for garnish

Instructions:

Place brown sugar in a shallow bowl large enough to dip glass rims in about 1/4-inch. Add enough water to another shallow bowl high enough to dip glasses in at least 1/4-inch.
Add ice to martini shaker and fill it halfway.
Add eggnog, vodka, and Amaretto. Add lid and shake to combine.
Dip each of the two martini glasses in the water and then in the brown sugar and set aside.
Pour eggnog mixture into glasses, sprinkle tops with nutmeg and serve immediately.

Tips

*Though manufacturers may have made a gluten free claim due to their distilling process, if their vodka is made using gluten grains, it is not truly gluten free. Try one made of other ingredients or grains or one that is grain-free.

Corn: SF Vodka “Baker Beach” and Smirnoff

Potato: Blue Ice Chopin, Luksosowa, Monopolowa,Teton Glacier, Vikingfjord

Grape: Bombora, Cîroc, DiVine, SF Vodka “China Beach”

Apples, Grapes and Sugar Cane: Azzure.

I'm not a big fan of potato vodka, but many people are. I look forward to trying Azzure. I bet it tastes more like rum, sweet.

**A substitute for the 3/4 ounce of Amaretto is 3/8 teaspoon almond extract.
