Gluten Free Ham Glaze – Honey Mustard

If you’ve tried other gluten free recipes for glazed ham and were not satisfied, you may find this gluten free ham glaze recipe just up your alley. It is a bit different than others, as it contains apple cider vinegar for a slightly tangier zing. However, it contains plenty of honey for sweetness, and a tab of butter to brown your ham well. Gluten Free Glazed Ham – Honey and Mustard

The perfect amount of sweetness and tanginess for your gluten free baked ham.

Ingredients:

1 - 12-lb. gluten free skinless shankless ham (Cook's brand)
Whole cloves, for garnishing and flavoring outside of ham
1 cup honey
1 cup light brown or coconut palm sugar, packed well
1/4 cup gluten free dijon mustard (French's or Grey Poupon)
2 Tablespoons butter (or dairy-free substitute)
1 Tablespoon apple cider vinegar

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350°F; line a roasting pan with foil to make clean up easier.
Score ham into a criss-cross pattern; push in a clove into each diamond shape.
Transfer ham to a rack inside roasting pan; bake for 30 minutes.
While the ham is baking, add sugar, mustard, butter and vinegar to a saucepan; heat on medium heat, whisking until sugar and butter have melted and combined;
Baste the ham with the glaze after it has baked for 30 minutes; repeat this process every 15 minutes until ham has baked a total of 90 minutes.
Remove ham from crack; allow to rest for 15 minutes before carving.

Tips

If you do not have a skinless, shankless ham, this glaze will still work. Just cut as much excess fat off of your ham as possible. The type of ham listed is just a suggestion.

You'll often find in recipes the term "prepared mustard". They are referring to mustard which contains additional ingredients such as dijon mustard.

Cover ham with foil once it reaches your desired color.
