Corn on the Cob Without Shucking + Steaming a New Way

Prep Time: 2 minutes

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Total Time: 12 minutes

Yield: Makes 6 servings

Weather you wish to steam, boil, grill, or microwave corn on the cob, you'll learn some new tricks to make your life either easier or healthier. Best of all, learn on how to cook corn on the cob without shucking (removing husks).

Ingredients:

  • 6 ears corn
  • Butter or buttery spread of choice or Garlic Butter, for serving (optional)

Instructions:

    To Microwave:
  1. If the corn does not fit in your microwave, slice off some of the bottoms.
  2. Place ears of corn in the microwave. Cook on high for 4 minutes per ear, a total of 12 minutes for 3 ears. Repeat with remaining ears of corn.
  3. Do not shuck the corn. Instead, slice off the end of the ear including about 1/2-inch of corn. From the thin tip of the corn, squeeze out the ear of corn. You'll find that it is almost free of silk.
  4. To Boil:
  5. Boil a large pot of water.
  6. Add ears of corn with husk remaining on the cobs. Boil for 10 - 15 minutes or until the kernels become tender. Remove the husks using pot holders. Serve with butter and salt, to taste.
  7. To Grill:
  8. Preheat the grill for the meat you are cooking.
  9. The last 15 minutes of cooking the meat, place the cobs in their husks on the grill.
  10. Cook for 10 - 15 minutes or until the kernels become tender.
  11. Remove the husks and serve with butter and salt, to taste.
