While McDonald’s shamrock shake is gluten-free, you can also make them at home. Instead of using vanilla ice cream, green food coloring, and chocolate syrup, I took a shortcut, making it that much easier!

If you use Breyer’s mint chip ice cream, it is natural; therefore contains no green coloring. You’ll need to add some gluten free food coloring. I have homemade green recipe and commercial brands listed here.

Gluten Free Shamrock Shake Recipe

A refreshing gluten free mint milkshake just like McDonald's Shamrock Shake, but easy to make!

Instructions:

  1. If using homemade whipped cream, make it according to the direction at the above link. Refigerate it until ready to use.
  2. Blend ice cream and milk in a blender until smooth. Pour into tall glasses.Top with whipped cream and green decorator sugar.
  3. Top with whipped cream and garnish with grated chocolate. If desired, add a gluten-free cherry.
