Why spend money on high-priced non-stick gluten free baking spray when you can make a better substitute at a lower cost using ingredients that you most likely have on hand. While you cannot spray this version, it works better, includes flour, and is completely gluten free. Also, learn how gluten free cake goop effects your baked goods.
How Will Goop Affect My Baking?
Shortening and oil tend to make crispier crusts than butter. However, flour
helps soften the crust. Goop will act similar to gluten free baking spray but
will be better in that if you do not melt it, you can apply a thicker layer,
like you do with cold butter.
Can I Use Goop in Place of Butter and Flour?
The dairy in butter softens crust. Therefore, you will need to make your
goop with butter instead of oil and shortening if you wish to replace butter
and flour.

Use at room temperature to grease baking pans in place of oil and flour or non-stick cooking spray. Alternatively, for a thinner coat, you may melt the mixture and apply with a silicone baking brush, your fingers, etc.
Store in a mason jar or air-tight container in the refrigerator up to 6 months or pantry below 80 degrees F, for up to 3 months. Then, to apply thick coats, bring a small amount to room temperature. For thin coats, melt and apply to baking pans immediately.
