Sugar-Free Gluten-Free Greek Yogurt Ambrosia

If you enjoy ambrosia, but are searching for a healthier alternative check out this recipe for sugar-free Greek yogurt ambrosia. Greek yogurt contains live cultures and other ingredients that are known to aid in digestion, which are all natural. Cinnamon is added for a wonderful flavor. Cinnamon’s health benefits are multiple, and aiding digestion is one of them. It is made sugar-free using stevia. Update: NuNutral brand stevia is not bitter, at all!

FAGE Greek yogurt (non-fat version) does not contain any fat, but has live cultures. A live culture means that it has friendly bacteria which is good for you. Live yogurt is helpful for the gastrointestinal system. However, FAGE’s non-fat yogurt does contain 3 grams of sugar (none added) and 20 grams of protein. Also see how FAGE Total Greek Yogurt is made. It’s gluten free.

Stevia is a great natural sweetener substitute without the effects on your glycemic index, as other sweeteners. My favorite brand of stevia is Stevita which comes in powdered or liquid.

If you can tolerate the above check out the recipe below.

From my research I found that if you have any digestive issues you should eat this after a meal, not on an empty stomach. Raw fruit is an insoluble fiber and is harder to digest. If you have no digestive issues you do not have to peel the apples.

Dairy has been known to irritate those with digestive issues, but if you can tolerate Greek yogurt I read that it can help. The safest thing to do is consult your doctor regarding your diet.
