As most of you know most of my gluten-free recipes are made without tomatoes due to food allergies. This one is no different. I tried to make this chili recipe more on the milder side so that it is kid friendly. If making it for children, only use half the amount of cayenne or leave it out all together. You can substitute the little sugar for anything sweet: agave, molasses, etc. I have made a similar recipe before, but it contained red and green bell peppers; and another with meat and green chile. If you have tomato allergies or just watching the carbs this recipe is for you! This one is wonderful when used for chili cheese fries! Continue reading “Gluten-Free Chili Without Beans and Tomatoes”
Gluten Free Beef Stew Chili
This gluten free beef stew recipe is actually another one of my gluten free chili recipes without tomatoes, (due to my allergies). Some assume chili is naturally gluten-free, but if you use a package chili mix it may very well contain wheat gluten. This chili recipe is thickened with potato starch, though you may use cornstarch, if that is all you have on hand. You may also add tomatoes to this recipe, if you wish, which will sweeten it up a bit, or you can sweeten it with sugar, agave nectar, stevia or a combination of any of these. It is wonderful over baked french fries, which is how I used it, or you can top it over baked potatoes or rice. It is only a tad spicy, so if you like it hot, spice it up a bit more using additional cumin and chili powder. The worcestershire sauce gives it more a beef stew flavor, therefore, if you desire more a chili flavor, just skip it or add more chili powder. Enjoy! Continue reading “Gluten Free Beef Stew Chili”
Gluten Free Chili Recipe Without Tomatoes
This gluten free chili recipe is made without tomatoes. I taste-tested this recipe so much I didn’t even need lunch, it was that good! You don’t need to cover this up with cheese and onions, but by all means, enjoy! It naturally thickened without the use of flour, but you can make it as thin or as thick as you wish. I wanted a thick chili today for use in my chili lasagna recipe. I will post that recipe in the next couple of days. In deciding what ingredients to use in this gluten free chili recipe, I considered some of the ingredients of my daughter’s award winning chili recipe, chocolate and bacon, but decided to go on the healthier side with lots of peppers, onion, green chiles and lean ground beef. It did the trick! I hope you enjoy this gluten free chili recipe as much as we have. Continue reading “Gluten Free Chili Recipe Without Tomatoes”
Gluten Free Chili Without Tomatoes and Beans
I made this gluten free chili without tomatoes because I have a tomato allergy. I also made this chili without beans and is gluten-free. I miss the sweetness that tomatoes bring to a good chili recipe, but I found a way to sweeten it up this recipe without tomatoes. It can be made as mild or hot as you wish. Just skip the cheese topping and it will be dairy free, too. My husband and I really enjoyed this gluten free chili recipe and hope that you will, too!
