Carla's Gluten Free Recipe Box Newsletter

July 12, 2016

Dear reader,

Ryze is a new gluten free flour manufacturer that contains "no" refined starch or gums. They may be new to retailing flour, but they're not new to rice. They are the largest rice manufacturer in California and supply big stores like Whole Foods and Trader Joe's, to name a couple. Meanwhile, I have developed two recipes, one for each of their flour mixes and have written a detailed product review. Check them all in this issue. They are all available to everyone as they are sponsored by Ryze!

Paid members, look forward to a members-only giveaway with ten winners of Ryze flour mixes!

Happy and healthy gluten-free cooking!

Ryze Gluten Free Flour

I am so excited about the new Ryze Gluten Free Flour Mixes! They make two allergen-free gluten-free flour mixes that you can use for multiple purposes. One unique thing about these flours is that they do not contain any white starch such as tapioca, potato, arrowroot, or cornstarch or gum such as xanthan, guar, arabic, locust bean, or tara. I tested them both and share my results with you. I also created two recipes, one for each mix and share those with you as well.

Gluten Free Buttermilk Pancakes

I didn't realize how difficult it would be to make the perfect gluten free buttermilk pancakes recipe without white starch and gum. But I did it! Using Ryze Gluten Free Flour Mix - Yellow Bag, I developed this high-ryze (pun intended) pancakes recipe. If wish to reduce or eliminate refined starch and gum (some people experience digestive issues from gums), you have to use this mix! (Stay tuned in for my upcoming review of both of their mixes.) Be sure to see the tips section for a feather-light version that melts in your mouth, but is a little extra work. The standard version is depicted in the photo.

Chewy Gluten Free Graham Cracker Ice Cream Sandwich

Using Ryze flour (contains no gum or white starch like potato, corn, or tapioca), I developed this recipe for chewy gluten free graham crackers to use with ice cream sandwiches. Their chewy texture makes this gluten free dessert amazing! You can also bake them longer for crunchy crackers. Enjoy the crackers dipped in chocolate; or dip their edges in finely chopped nuts. You can even fill them with no-bake cheesecake filling for a unique and decadent idea (see filling for

I also enjoy the crackers dipped in chocolate. Try dipping their edges in finely chopped nuts. You can even fill them with no-bake cheesecake filling for a unique and decadent idea (see filling for Cheesecake Stuffed Strawberries). Find below, the recipes for the graham crackers, ice cream sandwiches, as well as the crunchy variation.
