Miss donuts? These gluten free chocolate cake donuts were a huge hit with my gluten-eating husband! I even substituted full-fat coconut cream for heavy cream in the chocolate glaze. He really loved them. They truly are a donut that you can serve everyone.

This recipe is nothing like Yeast-Based Gluten Free Beignets (the ones that are popular in New Orleans, usually made from biscuit dough). Instead, they are Gluten Free French Beignets, popular in France. This dough creates light and airy pastries that have a marshmallow-like texture inside the shell, similar to churros. I don’t know anyone who would stop at just one. They’re just so light! Continue reading “Gluten Free French Beignets – Light and Airy New Orleans Donuts”
Gluten Free Apple Churros (Bite-Size or Standard)
These gluten free apple churros are made from a delicate pastry dough and may be made into bite-size treats or long strips for standard-sized churros. Gluten Free Beignets Recipe & Video (Yeast-Based Biscuit-Type Donut)
My mother was born in New Orleans, Louisana. She introduced our family to delicious southern-style cooking. I’m going to New Orleans this fall and can’t wait to try gluten free beignets, a French, biscuit-like donut, served warm. Hopefully, the famous Cafe du Monde offers one. Meanwhile, this recipe turned out amazing! Continue reading “Gluten Free Beignets Recipe & Video (Yeast-Based Biscuit-Type Donut)”
Gluten Free Brazilian Cream Donuts – Doughnuts (Sonho)
In Brazil, donuts are referred to as “sonhos” meaning “dreams”. The typical Brazilian donut recipe is more of a cake donut and yeast-risen. After making two different yeast-risen batches, I decided on skipping the yeast altogether. This recipe is light, airy, and tender. They get additional sweetness from a dusting of sugar and cinnamon as well as pastry cream filling. The rich filling makes these gluten free Brazilian cream donuts (or doughnuts) famous for its richness. They are so good, Christmas morning wouldn’t be the same without them in many countries. I’m thinking Easter brunch as well. Continue reading “Gluten Free Brazilian Cream Donuts – Doughnuts (Sonho)”

Then, fill them with your favorite gluten free jam and top with confectioners’ sugar. I include an alternative cream cheese filling recipe, as well. Try a savory filling for a unique twist.
