Gluten Free Barbecue Sauce Recipe

Gluten Free Barbecue Sauce

Instead of using bottled sauce for my ribs I created a barbecue sauce recipe using agave syrup which is lower on the glycemic index. I used to make my mother’s old recipe, but she used brown sugar and ketchup. I adapted my mother’s recipe, but instead of using ketchup which is also full of sugar and salt, I used tomato paste. If you want a lower sodium sauce you can use low-sodium tomato paste. I added hickory smoke which gives it a great barbecue taste. I hope my husband enjoys this and you, too! Gluten Free Custard Recipe for Cream Puffs, Creme Brulee and More!

Baked Custard

Custard is my favorite dessert next to ice cream and this one is my favorite, as it is a custard recipe for cream puffs! I also use it for creme brulee. It’s a great all-purpose gluten free custard, without the use of any flour. I created a Gluten Free Cream Puff Recipe yesterday upon the request of one of my readers and for my father who is visiting me. He’s Italian and cannot resist a cream puff, even a gluten free cream puff! A matter of fact, I had my best shaped cream puff on the table and had left the room. Upon returning, I found the cream puff in his mouth! I told him I was saving that one to fill and needed to take a picture of it. He said, “The damage is done!” and laughed! We both laughed. My father is 100% Italian and cream puffs are a delicacy. He loved that one but loved the ones I later filled even more. Being a connoisseur of cream puffs, he can attest to that this custard recipe for cream puffs is tops in his book! I hope you enjoy, as we both did! Fresh Basil Leaf Appetizers with a Kick

With only three ingredients, this gluten free appetizer recipe is so easy to make, yet your guests will think you slaved in the kitchen all day. Like most green leafy vegetables, fresh basil is loaded with Vitamin K. The small and medium sized leaves make for a nice tender appetizer. Just remember to not pick the leaves of the plants that are mid flowering, as the leaves will be bitter. The plants that are flowering should be topped off. The flower makes a nice centerpiece on the serving dish. Continue reading “Fresh Basil Leaf Appetizers with a Kick”

Gluten Free Banana Fritters and Mango Fritters

Gluten Free Banana and Mango Fritters

I had never made banana fritters, had never eaten gluten free banana fritters, and hadn’t eaten any in decades. However, I was watching a cooking show that provided me with some tips on deep frying batter which makes these gluten free banana fritters (or mango) nice and crispy, and prevents the oil from penetrating deep into the fruit. This is a light crispy batter. Very yummy! Continue reading “Gluten Free Banana Fritters and Mango Fritters”
