Recent time spent with my grandchildren got me to thinking of my childhood. I remember eating pink caramel popcorn. Remember that? All that sugar just seemed wonderful, and the artificial coloring made it very attractive! Fortunately, now, most people are gearing up towards healthier choices. No more red dye no. 40 which contains petroleum and less refined sugar. I decided to try a popcorn ball recipe sweetened with agave syrup. In yesterday’s episode of The Doctor Oz Show, April 26, 2010, a bar tender shared this red tornado drink recipe. It’s a great juice recipe and is naturally gluten-free. My gluten free spaghetti sauce recipe is a bit of a modern version of the authentic Italian spaghetti sauce that my Sicilian grandmother used to make. I have included both the authentic ingredients as well as a few shortcuts I take. I sometimes use dried parsley, canned mushrooms, etc. You can use all fresh ingredients or opt to take the shortcuts, but they both taste wonderful.
