Gluten Free Yeast Bread Recipe

Bread is one of the first things people begin to miss while new to the gluten free diet. If you are seeking a gluten-free yeast bread recipe that is similar to gluten bread, look no further. This is something I am known for. Though there are over 90 gluten free bread recipes on this blog, I list below my all-time favorites. Soft Potato-Free Corn-Free Gluten Free Bread Recipe (Dairy-Free Option)  – Similar to the doughiness of Wonder Bread which kids love.

Here are my some of my other favorite gluten-free sandwich bread recipes:

Gluten Free Oat Bread (or Sorghum) – Similar to a gluten oat bread.

No-Rise Egg-Free Gluten-Free French Bread or Rolls (pictured at the top of this page) – The rolls almost taste like the small, heavier gluten rolls you find in the store. The French bread is a little crispy on the outside. However, once it cools, it becomes softer.

Crusty Gluten Free Baguettes – This recipe is from a gluten free cookbook by Jules E. Shepherd. It is awesome! She provides you with choices of flours and starches to use. You will find my choices as well as a link to the full recipe.

Gluten Free Pumpernickel Bread – When I’m in the mood for something sweet, I turn to this recipe. This is my hubby’s fave, as well.

Gluten Free Oat Bread Machine Recipe with GF Setting – This is my favorite bread machine recipe so far. It is the one that I developed for Breadman.

Gluten Free Naan (Indian Flatbread) – I am addicted to this naan; and I am not alone. My husband and all of my readers rave about this recipe tasting just like its gluten counterpart. You have to try it!

I hope you enjoy some of my favorites, but don’t stop there. For all of the gluten free bread and bread substitute recipes, visit the Gluten Free Bread Recipes page. 1. Hi Michelle,

I apologize for the late reply. My replies have been going to my spam folder for some reason.

Making this one, under-baked like shown is perfect for kids. It’s the closest in softness that I have been able to achive, similar to wonder bread.

      Enjoy!

  1. I have high BP, Celiac and just found out I have Crohn’s Disease.

I am doing all right except from bread, it all seems to be high sodium which is a no go. I really need something palatable, and great tasting would be a miracle.

Can anyone steer me in the correct direction please.

    1. Terri,

Compared to all of the breads on the market, my recipes are fairly low in sodium. I make them for a family member who has high blood pressure that is not even gluten free. He likes them because they’re low in sodium. Just stick to a maximum of 3/4 teaspoon of salt per loaf. The less you use, the higher the bread rises. However, be sure to use some salt as none will make the bread fall (over-rising).

      Enjoy,
      Carla

  2. I made this bread today. I upped the oat flour a quarter cup and lowered the tapioca starch by a quarter cup. Used chia seed instead of flax, sliced beautifully, tastes great. My new favorite bread. I also baked for one hour. Thank you so much!!!
