Flaky Gluten Free Pie Crust Recipe (Pâté Brisée)

Flaky Gluten Free Crust Filled with Beef

Many of my Facebook followers have requested that I develop a gluten free pie crust recipe that does not call for superfine rice flour. This one turned out flakier than any other pie crust on this site. I have used it to make mini gluten free chicken pot pies, regular size, as well as a gluten free peach pie. They all turned out delicious. You will find that refrigerating the dough once rolled makes transferring the rolled out dough to the pie much easier. I have included that tip as well as another for ease in transferring the dough. Meanwhile, I hope you enjoy this recipe for many of your savory and sweet gluten free pies. Jello is gluten free and enables you to make a very festive gluten free fourth of July jello dessert recipe. While I do not usually post any gelatin desserts, these are so adorable, I couldn’t resist. I just loved the red, white, and blue colors. You can create all sorts of fun things with this recipe: use different fruit, add fruit to the jello, tilt the glass while it’s chilling to create angled jello layers, and add vodka. I hope you all have a fun and safe 4th of July! Continue reading “Fourth of July Jello Dessert (Gluten Free)”

Gluten Free Strawberry Ice Cream Recipe

Image: Gluten Free Strawberry Ice Cream

This strawberry ice cream recipe is gluten free. Most ice cream recipes are except for the ones with addins that contain gluten. Made with old fashioned custard base, this recipe is creamy, but doesn’t freeze up as solid as many homemade ice cream recipes because of the added gum. It helps prevent crystals from forming and provides a bit of chew, just like commercial brands. You can add more xanthan gum, if desired. If strawberry ice cream is not your favorite, try another berry or fruit. Meanwhile, enjoy!  Continue reading “Gluten Free Strawberry Ice Cream Recipe”

Gluten Free Cauliflower au Gratin

Image: Cauliflower au Gratin

Cauliflower au gratin is a great way to get that same rich, cheesy texture with a vegetable instead of potatoes. It reduces some of the carbs, as well. Though the calories in this dish are pretty high as it uses tons of cheese and cream. However, it makes a great dish for guests. Everything in moderation, right? This dish is a bit more saucier than au gratin potatoes as it does not take cauliflower as long to bake as potatoes. However extra sauce is not a bad thing at all. I’m hoping you will enjoy this cauliflower au gratin dish just as much potatoes. It’s so much easier because you don’t have to peel potatoes! Continue reading “Gluten Free Cauliflower au Gratin”
