Gluten Free Dairy Free Brownies

A couple of years ago I created a Gluten Free Brownie Recipe, but I wanted to ensure that I addressed the needs of those who are dairy-free, as well. Therefore, I created this gluten free dairy free brownies recipe. Now that I have, I must say, these turned out incredible! I hope you enjoy them as much as I did. I don’t know if my husband will see any of this batch since he’s out of town on business. And that is very much unlike me. Brownies are his favorite gluten free dessert, or any dessert, for that matter. I know he’ll love these, and he’s not 100% gluten free! He’s only gluten free by default (me being gluten free). Enjoy! Gluten Free Churros

These gluten free churros are perfection! They have a crisp outer crust with a creamy center. You couldn’t ask for more. A dairy-free option is provided.

This gluten free churros recipe was adapted from the gluten Churros Recipe on All Recipes. Though their recipe did not call for egg, churros are usually made from a choux, French for a dough made with egg such as cream puff pastries. It is the ideal dough to use, as it creates that well known, creamy, marshmallow-like texture in the center. I have only tasted churros once and did not like them at all. Once I did some research and found out about the marshmallow center and the choux, I knew I’d love them. These babies are better than donuts! Enjoy this Spanish favorite! Golden Gluten Free Dairy Free Cake

Image: Gluten Free Yellow Cake

With all of the egg yolks I had left over from all of the bread I bake I decided to make a  yellow cake. Using just egg yolks adds much moisture, and creates a deep golden color. This turned out very moist and delicious. I hope all of my dairy-free readers appreciate it, as well as others. You may flavor this cake with lemon rind, orange rind, or almond extract. You may serve it plain, add your favorite icing or frosting, top it with powdered sugar, or drizzle it with chocolate ganache and top it with sliced almonds. A thin, plain icing (several cups of powdered sugar and a couple tablespoons of milk) with an added complimentary flavor such lemon rind, almond extract, etc. will do nicely, as well. I hope you enjoy this gluten free dairy free cake! Continue reading “Golden Gluten Free Dairy Free Cake”

Gluten Free Beef Tenderloin

Image: Fillet Mignon - Beef Tenderloin Roast

This Christmas we only had a small amount of guest, therefore, serving a fine cut of meat was  inexpensive. If you have a special dinner coming up soon, consider a beef tenderloin, which is the same cut as filet mignon. It is easy to cut, carve, and serve. Because it is so tender and juicy, no gravy is required, however, if you’re serving it with mashed potatoes you can make gravy, if desired. I rarely measure ingredients for gravy, but have provided you with the ingredients and instructions below. There is nothing specific you need, besides oil and seasonings. When making beef tenderloin, remember…keep it simple! You can’t go wrong! Continue reading “Gluten Free Beef Tenderloin”

Gluten Free Appetizers: Sausage and Cheese Bread Balls

Image: Gluten Free Appetizers: Sausage and Cheese Balls

You’ve heard of breadsticks that you dip into pizza sauce, right? Well, picture breadsticks shaped into balls with a little, or a lot of cheese and sausage inside, and it’s yeast-free. Heaven, right? And you can make them a little more guilt-free by using turkey sausage, as I did. They were so good, I skipped the sauce entirely. However, my father and husband thought they were too dry to eat alone. Let’s face it, it’s bread. It had a nice crunch on the outside crust which I loved! I can eat these gluten free appetizers any day! Enjoy! Continue reading “Gluten Free Appetizers: Sausage and Cheese Bread Balls”

You may make dessert fruit kebabs by serving with a Chocolate Fondue Sauce. Enjoy these appetizers whether for New Year’s Eve or any other day! Continue reading “Fruit Kebabs”

Gluten Free Jelly Donuts or Custard

Image: Gluten Free Jelly Donuts

This recipe was adapted from Martha Stewart’s Hanukkah Sufganiyot Jelly Doughnuts. My intention was to develop a recipe for gluten free jelly donuts prior to Hanukkah, but unfortunately, work and caring for my elderly father caused a delayed. Sufganiyot, otherwise known as round jelly donuts are an Israeli delicacy associated with the miracle of the oil that burns in the Holy Temple in Jerusalem. Deep-fried foods are eaten up to and through Hanukkah. Continue reading “Gluten Free Jelly Donuts or Custard”
