Naan is luscious Indian flatbread, similar to a tortilla, but thicker. With one simple alteration, you can roll or pat them out thinner to use as tortillas. The flavor and texture are so good that they should be a sin to eat. By far, this gluten free naan is my most raved about recipe. People liken them to their gluten counterpart. Naan is full of possibilities.

Gluten Free Easter Bread

Braided Gluten Free Easter Bread Dough

It is an Italian tradition to make an Easter bread, which is usually on the sweet side. This gluten free Easter bread recipe is slightly sweet, but not very. Feel free to add additional sugar, if desired. I provide you with instructions on how to color your eggs using simple food coloring to the choices of braiding or twisting the dough. Make one large loaf to use as center piece or make mini versions for several tables if you have a large group to feed. Either way, I hope you and your family enjoy this festive treat! Over a year ago I tried to make gluten free pita bread, but was under the misconception that rising them prior to rolling would be fruitless. Now that I’ve experimented more, I know this not to be the case. When someone recently asked me for a yeast-free pita bread recipe, it was a reminder that I needed to give them another go. And I’m absolutely thrilled how they turned out. I don’t know if it’s because it’s been about 10 years since I’ve had one or not, but they taste like gluten pita bread to me! This recipe was adapted from its gluten cousin Pita Bread Recipe on About.com. You can serve this pita bread with hummus dip, or use it as substitute for gluten free bread, as I did in one of the images below, with chicken salad. Enjoy! In preparation for summer, I decided to start working on a gluten free bread machine recipe, and I’m so glad that I did! I have on old version of the Breadman Ultimate, Model No. TR2200WWC, similar to the TR2200C. If I recall correctly, I purchased it around 2004, well before they made bread machines with a gluten free cycle. One thing great about the Breadman Ultimate series is that they are programmable so that you can skip steps or set the length of time, i.e., the first and second kneads, shape (punch), bake and rise, even add ins. Gluten Free Sourdough Bread Using Oven Roasting Bag

This recipe is a work in progress, but I am very pleased on how it turned out for the first time. I really wanted to have a much rounder, higher gluten free sourdough bread at the end, but in transferring it to the baking pan, I was afraid it would rise too much. So, I spread it out a bit. Though I used cornstarch in this recipe because I am allergic to tapioca, I believe it will result in a fluffy, higher risen bread by using tapioca flour/starch instead. Though cornstarch has more flavor.

This bread is very sour, if you allow the gluten free sourdough starter to develop gray liquid (hooch). Therefore, be careful to follow the instructions in my starter recipe.

We’ll never be able to reproduce that flavor by using gluten free flour. It’s just not the same. However, this recipe did satisfy my cravings for sourdough bread. I had used 1 teaspoon of salt, but it was not nearly enough. Try starting with 1 1/2 teaspoons and increase from there the next time you make it. I plan on making this again using tapioca flour/starch and 1 teaspoon sugar for my husband, just to see how different it turns out. I’ll update this post then. Meanwhile, enjoy this crusty wonder! You’ve heard of breadsticks that you dip into pizza sauce, right? Well, picture breadsticks shaped into balls with a little, or a lot of cheese and sausage inside, and it’s yeast-free. Heaven, right? And you can make them a little more guilt-free by using turkey sausage, as I did. They were so good, I skipped the sauce entirely. However, my father and husband thought they were too dry to eat alone. Let’s face it, it’s bread. It had a nice crunch on the outside crust which I loved! I was honored with the task of developing a recipe for the KitchenAid 6-Quart Slow Cooker with Easy Serve Lid. The baker in me said it had to be a gluten-free baked good. With holiday season upon us I decided on a gluten free bread pudding, as it is a very versatile recipe. However, I baked the gluten free breadenter called for in this recipe in the slow cooker, as well. It rises and bakes right in the slow cooker, without any help from you.
