Gluten Free Pear Crumble

Image: Gluten Free Pear Cobbler

You can make this gluten free pear crumble recipe much easier by using canned pears. However, fresh pears are full of vitamins and minerals. No matter what flour blend you use, it should out about the same because the recipe calls for very little flour. Note, though, tapioca browns easier, but is chewy, and cornstarch has high crisping qualities, and potato starch with just a little less. I have also provided some holiday garnish suggestions. This recipe can be made allergen-free if you skip the nuts. Continue reading “Gluten Free Pear Crumble”

Wine and Cheese Gluten Free Cracker Recipe

Image: Wine and Cheese Gluten Free Crackers

I am honored to present this gluten free cracker recipe that I developed for WholeVine. They offer grapeskin and grapeseed flour made from wine grape remnants as well as gluten free cookies. A couple of months ago I surveyed my Facebook followers for their favorite wine, and Riesling was the winner. So, I used Riesling grapeseed flour in this gluten free cracker recipe. However, they offer several other varieties, including grapeseed flour. Just be sure not to use grapeseed flour in this recipe as additional liquid ingredient would be required. Meanwhile, cut your favorite cheese, pour a glass of wine, and enjoy! Continue reading “Wine and Cheese Gluten Free Cracker Recipe”

Gluten Free Pizzelles - Flat or Molded

A gluten free pizzelle recipe sure to make your Italian grandma proud. They’re crisp, but not too crisp to mold into your favorite shapes. You can also shape them into cups and fill with your favorite custard, mousse, or ice cream. They also make a great substitute for gluten free cannoli shells. Gluten Free Cauliflower au Gratin

Image: Cauliflower au Gratin

Cauliflower au gratin is a great way to get that same rich, cheesy texture with a vegetable instead of potatoes. It reduces some of the carbs, as well. Though the calories in this dish are pretty high as it uses tons of cheese and cream. However, it makes a great dish for guests. Everything in moderation, right? This dish is a bit more saucier than au gratin potatoes as it does not take cauliflower as long to bake as potatoes. However extra sauce is not a bad thing at all. I’m hoping you will enjoy this cauliflower au gratin dish just as much potatoes. It’s so much easier because you don’t have to peel potatoes! Continue reading “Gluten Free Cauliflower au Gratin”

Flaky Gluten Free Croissants

Image: Gluten Free Croissant

I put off developing a recipe for gluten free croissants for way too long. After multiple requests, here it is! I used my new gluten free phyllo dough recipe. Though it calls for superfine rice flour, I will be experimenting in the future with non superfine gluten free flours. I baked them after my husband went to bed one night and left 5 out, loosely covered. with a note stating to have as many as he’d like. I made them with tapioca flour/starch, which I am allergic to. (I had a couple anyways. Oh my!) When I woke up the next morning they were all gone. That night be kept raving them about them. I have never heard him enjoy anything, gluten free, more than these. And he still eats gluten! Meanwhile, I will continue to improve upon this recipe each time I make them. I hope you enjoy them as much we have. Continue reading “Flaky Gluten Free Croissants”

Gluten Free Snickerdoodles

Fresh out of the oven or cooled, these gluten free snickerdoodles are to die for! Just like traditional snickerdoodles, they are a light, soft, sugary cookie with a crisp, chewy outer shell. The inside is not quite cake-like, but definitely not dense like regular cookies. They are chewier than cake. I surveyed my Facebook followers on how they enjoy their snickerdoodles. Due to the mixed results, I have added several tips at the bottom of this recipe so that you may adjust it according to your preferences. These are made my way. I hope you get to enjoy them your way! Image: Gluten Free Glazed Ham

If you’ve tried other gluten free recipes for glazed ham and were not satisfied, you may find this gluten free ham glaze recipe just up your alley. It is a bit different than others, as it contains apple cider vinegar for a slightly tangier zing. However, it contains plenty of honey for sweetness, and a tab of butter to brown your ham well. I hope you all have a wonderful Easter holiday! ~ Carla
