Soba means “buckwheat” in Japanese. Many Japanese dishes contain soba/buckwheat noodles. King Soba offers safe, gluten free soba noodles in a variety of flavors. My favorite is their Buckwheat & Sweet Potatoes Noodles. Buckwheat noodles are so much healthier than rice pasta. I use them in stir-fry as well as other pasta recipes. The texture is amazing and holds up well. Just be sure to cook them al dente before frying them in this recipe. I usually use the Sweet Potato Soba Noodles. I just love the sweet flavor, even in savory dishes. They would be ideal for this dish as it is slightly sweet and slightly spicy. Sweetness with spiciness is a marriage made in heaven, in my book. Gluten Free Caramelized Brussels Sprouts and Bacon
Caramelized brussels sprouts with bacon is the ideal way to serve brussels sprouts. If you don’t usually enjoy them, I believe you’ll be pleasantly surprised. The bacon not only adds flavor but when braised in a heavy skillet also adds flavor. These are an elegant vegetable to serve to guests. Gluten Free Chicken Adobo
I was watching the Today Show and saw a segment on adobo chicken. Adobo is a Filipino method of cooking food in vinegar and soy sauce. I have had adobo chicken before and enjoyed it; therefore, it sounded wonderful. This is my version of gluten free adobo chicken which is closer to teriyaki chicken since it contains ginger. It may be cooked on the stovetop or in a crockpot. Enjoy!
Gluten Free Roasted Acorn Squash Soup
I recently roasted acorn squash. I served about half of one of the squash as is. It was delicious! Then I made this soup with the rest. The flavors of Pamesan and garlic made this soup superb. This roasted acorn squash soup is truly scrumptious with all its creamy goodness. Continue reading “Gluten Free Roasted Acorn Squash Soup”

Gluten Free Paleo Peach Crumble
Sometimes there is confusion between crumbles, crisps and cobblers. They all contain a fruit filling topped with various ingredients. A crumble and a crisp have a crunchy topping. A crisp contains oats, where a crumble does not. A cobbler is topped with dough, much like biscuit dough. If you’re not paleo, you can add some certified gluten free oats and you’ll have yourself a gluten free peach crisp. Enjoy this gluten free paleo peach crumble! Gluten Free Grilled or Deep Fried PB&J
While watching Rachael Ray last week, I heard that Tavern On Third, a sports bar in New York, serves a deep fried peanut butter and jelly sandwich. It’s one of the specials during sports games. However, it’s not gluten free. They did not share their recipe, but I got right on it and created a gluten free version for you.

Gluten Free Panko Bread Crumbs – Breadcrumbs
Panko breadcrumbs are Japanese-style bread crumbs made from the dough of bread without crust. As you can see in the below photo, panko is white, not toasted crumbs. I throw some gluten free panko crumbs into the batter I use for my Gluten Free Tempura recipe as it adds texture. I have used many of my gluten free bread recipes to make panko, but none of them have been as crispy as when I use Schar rolls. Check out this super simple recipe. Orangecello Liqueur Recipe
Orangecello is an Italian delight. Serve it over ice, mix it with wine or champagne and serve as a spritzer, or add it your favorite cocktail. Make homemade orangecello with little effort. Cent’anni! (This is an Italian toast literally meaning “100 years” – wishing you to live 100 years.) Continue reading “Orangecello Liqueur Recipe”
Gluten Free Beef Stew in Red Wine Sauce
I made a large pot of this gluten free beef stew last night. It was so delicious! I used an inexpensive wine, not one I would drink, though that is not suggested by the pros. I froze a bunch for my husband to take on his out of town trips and for unexpected guests. I’m not big on potatoes in my stew, so I only used a few for my hubby to enjoy. You can add more if you desire. I like my beef stew served over rice. There is no need to add Gravy Master or Kitchen Bouquet as the wine naturally creates a dark gravy. Enjoy!
