I usually cook turkey giblets, strip the neck for meat and mince up the rest. I add it my stuffing to increase the flavor. The thought may be unpleasant to some, but the flavor certainly is not. It’s incredible. However, if you wish to make flavorful gravy, the giblets may be added to it, as well. Either way, this gluten free gravy recipe is wonderful. Sweet & Spicy Gluten Free Soba Noodles & Chicken
Soba means “buckwheat” in Japanese. Many Japanese dishes contain soba/buckwheat noodles. King Soba offers safe, gluten free soba noodles in a variety of flavors. My favorite is their Buckwheat & Sweet Potatoes Noodles. Buckwheat noodles are so much healthier than rice pasta. I use them in stir-fry as well as other pasta recipes. The texture is amazing and holds up well. Just be sure to cook them al dente before frying them in this recipe. I usually use the Sweet Potato Soba Noodles. I just love the sweet flavor, even in savory dishes. They would be ideal for this dish as it is slightly sweet and slightly spicy. Sweetness with spiciness is a marriage made in heaven, in my book. Gluten Free Breakfast Burrito with Homemade Tortilla
Most people are amazed that you can make a better gluten free tortilla better than you can buy anywhere. The ingredients are nothing you would most likely expect. I use my gluten free naan recipe and omit the baking soda. This way they are not puffy like flatbread, yet remain soft so that you can easily roll them. You can make the dough in advance, keep shredded cheese on hand and any other ingredients you’e like to add. Then in the morning, you just pat out the dough and fry in about one minute. Now, there is no excuse to skip a protein filled breakfast with this delicious gluten free breakfast burrito. Enjoy! Continue reading “Gluten Free Breakfast Burrito with Homemade Tortilla”
One Layer Gluten Free Chocolate Cake with Almond Coffee Frosting
This is a wonderful size cake to make when you’re only having one or two guests over or have a small family. I like to make small cakes so that I am not tempted to continually eat sweets. The combination of the coffee almond frosting and chocolate cake creates a mocha sensation to rock your world. This gluten free chocolate cake is decadently moist and chocolaty. Gluten Free Caramelized Brussels Sprouts and Bacon
Caramelized brussels sprouts with bacon is the ideal way to serve brussels sprouts. If you don’t usually enjoy them, I believe you’ll be pleasantly surprised. The bacon not only adds flavor but when braised in a heavy skillet also adds flavor. These are an elegant vegetable to serve to guests. Gluten Free Chicken Adobo
I was watching the Today Show and saw a segment on adobo chicken. Adobo is a Filipino method of cooking food in vinegar and soy sauce. I have had adobo chicken before and enjoyed it; therefore, it sounded wonderful. This is my version of gluten free adobo chicken which is closer to teriyaki chicken since it contains ginger. It may be cooked on the stovetop or in a crockpot. Enjoy!
Gluten Free Johnny Cakes – Johnnycakes – Jonnycakes – Hoecakes
Johnny cakes, also known as johnnycakes, jonnycakes, jonny cakes and hoecakes, are similar to pancakes, but they contain some hominy grits, or cornmeal, in this case. Using my recipe for gluten free bisquick or Betty Crocker’s store-bought brand, this recipe is easy to make and tastes delicious. It makes light and fluffy pancakes with the grains of corn. Feel free to substitute buttermilk with the recipe for homemade or dairy-free buttermilk by reading the tips section. Continue reading “Gluten Free Johnny Cakes – Johnnycakes – Jonnycakes – Hoecakes”
Gluten Free Pumpkin Cornbread (Dairy-Free Options)
Though I am allergic to pumpkin, whenever I get the craving for it, I create a new recipe and have my husband taste-test it. I have never had pumpkin cornbread before, but it sounded so good. To create this recipe, I began with my Gluten Free Cornbread for Stuffing and simply substituted the milk with pumpkin puree. My husband gobbled up a piece of this gluten free pumpkin cornbread and asked for more. He didn’t realize it was cornbread at first. Once he had a piece topped with his usual margarine, he said it was moist, with a typical cornbread flavor and texture, with a slight taste of pumpkin. Without the butter on top, he said it was a bit dry, like regular cornbread. He loved it, as I hope you will. Continue reading “Gluten Free Pumpkin Cornbread (Dairy-Free Options)”
Gluten Free Roasted Acorn Squash Soup
I recently roasted acorn squash. I served about half of one of the squash as is. It was delicious! Then I made this soup with the rest. The flavors of Pamesan and garlic made this soup superb. This roasted acorn squash soup is truly scrumptious with all its creamy goodness. Continue reading “Gluten Free Roasted Acorn Squash Soup”
Gluten Free French Fried Onions Recipe
While I already have a Gluten Free Onion Ring Recipe on this site, this recipe is used with my Green Bean Casserole Recipe. There isn’t much difference between the two, other than the spices. You can even skip the onions altogether and add additional onion powder to the batter. Then add the batter to a squeezable, plastic mustard container or pastry bag fitted with a small tip and squeeze little strips into the hot oil and fry until crunchy. Either way, they’re so good!
