Don’t know what to do with over-ripened bananas? Make fried bananas! Fry them up in about 5 minutes and top them your favorite topping or the buttery sweet sauce straight from the pan. Gluten Free Vol-au-Vent for Sweet or Savory Recipes
A vol-au-vent is a French pastry which is made from layers of puffed pasty, hallowed out and filled with anything from sweet to savory. This gluten free vol-au-vent is stuffed with peach pie filling, however, you may fill it with something savory which contains a little sauce or moisture, such as a seafood mousse, chicken pot pie filling, etc. How this recipe came about was when I stumbled upon a recipe for vol-au-vent, and just had to make a gluten free version. While this recipe turns out a crust similar to pie crust, it can be made with my new flaky gluten free phyllo dough. This gluten free vol-au-vent recipe allows you to be creative. You can shape them into hearts for Valentine’s Day or four leaf clovers for St. Patrick’s Day. You can scallop the edges or whatever you desire. Give it a try. I am in love! This gluten free brown rice pasta recipe is heaven on a plate! And it is so easy to make! I have made flat pasta (linguine-style) and ravioli pasta with this recipe and it works – without any starch at all! And because I used superfine brown rice flour, it did not have any grittiness at all. I had hunted all over the web for a brown rice pasta recipe that did not include potato, tapioca or corn starch or flour, but had no luck. I wanted a healthy, gluten free brown rice pasta recipe. The brown rice pasta recipes used by most manufacturers do not include starch, just brown rice flour and water. So, to the drawing board I went and came up with a recipe that contains a bit of guar gum, which is corn-free, and I added just a bit of oil to make it easier for pushing through a pasta maker. I used my pasta attachment for my KitchenAid mixer. Of course, the oil is not necessary if you’re going to roll it by hand, but a little flavor and the lack of stickiness is well worth it. This recipe is not only gluten-free, but also egg-free.
Update: I finally got around to experimenting with this recipe. I did not want to add a bunch of starch to it to make it have a good texture, like my Gluten Free Egg Noodle Recipe. Therefore, I resorted to adding gum, and egg whites. See the final recipe Brown Rice Pasta Recipe. Just be sure to use “superfine brown rice flour“. Gluten Free Rice Bread (Potato- and Tapioca-Free)

One of my readers requested a gluten free rice bread recipe containing rice flour, arrowroot flour and guar gum due to several grain sensitivities. Here it is! The best I can do right now. I added some flaxseed meal for a bit of fiber and flavor, an extra egg white for added protein, as baking gluten free rice bread with only arrowroot flour, versus potato and tapioca starch, is whole different ball game! It was challenging. The recipe below was my first attempt. On my next attempt I’ll try increase the amount of water and see if I can get it rise a bit higher, using a 9×5″ loaf pan. I used a 9×5″, but it did not rise, above the rim, and then fell a bit during cooling. A 9×4″ loaf pan would be perfect for the recipe, as is. This gluten free bread recipe did not turn out fluffy like my usual gluten free bread recipes, but it is certainly edible and tasty! It’s just better toasted. Whoever else has similar grain sensitivities, I hope this gluten free rice bread recipe is some to use to you. Gluten Free Bran Muffins
This gluten free bran muffins recipe originated from the glutenous breakfast bran muffins served at the historic Awahnee Hotel in Yosemite National Park, straight from the chef, years ago. I live just 25 miles from Yosemite and am familiar with their decadent brunch buffets. Who knows if they are serving the same recipe now. I have converted it to a gluten free bran muffins recipe with the use of rice bran. They turned out very light! Therefore, don’t hesitate to replace a bit of the flour blend with a more nutritious, heavier flour, such as millet, amaranth, etc. Being that I halved the original recipe, I should have added 1 1/2 eggs, but accidentally poured in 1 3/4. I suggest 1 1/2 for a heavier muffin. As I stated, these are very light. Enjoy!
Soft Gluten Free Dinner Rolls Recipe
I had put off developing a soft gluten free dinner rolls recipe, for too long. So, I made it a priority, and I am so glad that I did! I am not a big bread eater, but I just cannot stop myself with these rolls! They are not grainy at all. They are something my husband loves during the holiday, and I was certainly not going to make him rolls with gluten! When he got home he gobbled up many.
