This gluten-free dairy-free mashed potatoes recipe is not only easy to make but is delicious; and is made completely allergen-free. They are made without dairy, casein, soy, nuts, or any of the eight major allergens. Instead of peeling the potatoes and cubing them, you boil them whole and the peel just slides off. The main thing is you don’t have to sacrifice on taste. If you are not allergic or intolerant to any of these ingredients, feel free to use butter and cow’s milk. Gluten Free Hot Chili Oil Recipe
I use hot chili oil in many of my Asian dishes such as the dipping sauce for my Gluten Free Potstickers Recipe and sometimes in Fried Rice. Often readers inform me that they cannot find chili oil in their local stores. I decided to solve that problem by supplying you with a homemade hot chili oil recipe. I hope you enjoy it and find it useful. You can fry chicken in it, add a bit to ice cream and other unsuspecting food. Continue reading “Gluten Free Hot Chili Oil Recipe”
Mild Gluten Free Sweet Chili Sauce Recipe
Sweet chili sauce is a Thai favorite. You can purchase this sauce in bottles. One brand that is gluten free is Thai Kitchen Sweet Chili Sauce. If you’re allergic to tapioca, choose another gluten free brand or make this recipe. It’s easy to make it at home, though; and can be stored for a very long time. (Though it begins to loose its heat after a month or so.) While ginger is not a common ingredient in sweet chili sauce, I provide it as an option in my recipe. Lately, I use fresh ginger in almost all of my Asian dishes. Use this sauce in dips, dipping sauces, and my favorite, Asian Chicken Lettuce Wraps/Cups. I think I’ll start using this as my go-to dip for my Gluten Free Potsticker Recipe. Since it contains no oil, it is low in fat and calories (not carbs). For added calories, use a little salad oil or my new Gluten Free Chili Oil Recipe. Continue reading “Mild Gluten Free Sweet Chili Sauce Recipe”
Gluten Free Indian Fry Bread (Navajo Flatbread)
Navajo fry bread was made by the Navajo Indians. Once other tribes began creating their own versions of the bread, it was known as Indian fry bread. Not all recipes for Indian fry bread contain yeast, but this version does. Some use cornmeal, while this one does not. I got the idea when a reader recently emailed me about how my gluten free pizza dough recipe (that you can make in a bread machine or not) turned out to be perfect for gluten free Indian fry bread. She doesn’t use a bread machine, but makes the dough by hand. You can do either. I have adjusted the recipe a bit if you just wish to try 1/3 of the pizza dough recipe. I used less egg white, a little more oil, a little more water, and a higher ratio of cornstarch for crispness. To my amazement, it was absolutely fabulous! I didn’t expect this Indian fry bread (actually a flatbread) to be appealing since it is a thicker dough than I am accustomed to using for what I consider American-Mexican food, but it was. Enjoy! Crunchy Homemade Gluten Free Gingerbread Granola
‘Tis the season for everything eggnog, pumpkin, peppermint and gingerbread. This gluten free granola recipe is no different, as it is gingerbread flavored. Nature’s Path makes one where for everyone sold, they done one to a food shelter. However, unfortunately, it’s not gluten free. Once I saw it, I just had to create my own recipe. I used most of the ingredients they use, accept I used “gluten free” oats, added tons of nuts, some brown flax seed meal (it has more omega’s than golden flax seeds), agave and honey. I didn’t have any crystallized ginger, but omitted the rice starch intentionally. Because it contains evaporated cane juice sugar, it turns out crispier than the Gluten Free Granola Recipe I usually make. However, because it is sweet, I don’t need to add raisins or other dried fruit. Continue reading “Crunchy Homemade Gluten Free Gingerbread Granola”
Gluten Free Gingerbread House Recipe – Delicious & Sturdy
This gluten free gingerbread house recipe is both structurally sound and delicious. A matter of fact, I’ve never cared for gingerbread, even when I ate gluten. I couldn’t stop eating this one! It truly is the best gingerbread house I have ever tasted. My hubby, who loves gingerbread cookies/houses, says it tastes just like the gluten versions. Use the template I provide and make it your own as I did, or use your favorite template.

Alternative to Royal Icing for Gluing a Gingerbread House
If you don’t like the idea of using raw egg white, prefer a clear and clean look on your gingerbread house, or are allergic to eggs, this alternative royal icing is for you. It’s easy and inexpensive to make, as well. Also see Traditional Gluten Free Royal Icing Recipe. Continue reading “Alternative to Royal Icing for Gluing a Gingerbread House”
Gluten Free Cut Out Sugar Cookie Recipe
Most of the sugar cookies I have tasted are a bit dry as they all contain egg. Therefore, I added additional butter to the recipe I developed so that you do not have to sacrifice on flavor or texture. Additional butter makes them more delicate, but not as delicate as shortbread. They are somewhere in between shortbread and sugar cookies. Enjoy this gluten free cut out sugar cookie recipe and fun decorating them. Continue reading “Gluten Free Cut Out Sugar Cookie Recipe”
Gluten Free Pumpkin Roll Recipe – Roulade
One of my Facebook followers recently asked me for a gluten free pumpkin roll recipe. Last year, I developed a recipe for one of my clients, but I don’t have the copyrights to that recipe. Therefore, here is a new one. I hope you enjoy it. I adapted and converted Trisha Yearwood’s wheat flour pumpkin roll recipe on Food Network. Gluten Free Oatnut 3-Seed Bread Machine Recipe (or Oven)
Oat bread has always been my adult bread of choice. When I went gluten free, it was the bread I missed the most, next to sourdough. I’ve created a number of gluten free oat bread recipes. This one mimics Oroweat’s Oatnut 3 Seed Bread. They both contain the same seeds, but this one is minus the wheat flour and works with a bread machine that has a gluten free setting. I used the Breadman BK1050S. If your machine doesn’t have a gluten free setting, look for my other oat bread machine recipe at the above link. Enjoy.
