I am so tired of all of the chemicals in our food. As a gluten-free baker, I just cannot do without the use of shortening for a flaky crust. Tropical Traditions sent me a bucket, (literally) of their organic palm oil to test for a review and giveaway. Read my Tropical Traditions Organic Palm Shortening review and about the giveaway below.
Tropical Traditions Organic Palm Shortening Review
I must say, just knowing that is not full of chemicals makes me so relieved! In addition, knowing that it is free of soy and corn makes me feel even better! You can use it to make a a gluten free, soy free, dairy free, corn free buttery spread, too! See my recipe at Allergy-Free Gluten-Free Margarine. Love it!

I’ve been hearing more and more about Palm Oil and it being the best to bake and cook with, high smoke point and all that! I have always used olive oil and coconut oil but am finding that I would benefit much more by consuming these raw and using something like palm oil for heat-required dishes.
I would sooooo LOVE to give this a try!

I’d like the palm shortening because I’ve learned how unhealthy the typical oils and shortenings are. I’ve started using coconut oil for a replacement in many recipes, but it hasn’t worked in everything. I’d like to try the palm oil in those recipes. Plus, your margarine recipe looks very interesting too!

I’d like to be entered in this giveaway. I’d love to try Palm Shortening as a healthier baking fat. I’ve been using coconut oil, but it adds coconut flavor that my husband doesn’t like.
I subscribe to tt newsletter.
I’d love to find a non-hydrogenated shortening that tastes and works well. Sounds great!
This product seems to be similar to the (non-organic) coconut fat that is used in many German baking recipes. I was going to give regular American “shortening” a try, as I haven’t been able to find an equivalent, but winning this would be perfect.
I would love to win the Palm Oil as I am new to the Glutien Free world being diagnosed with allergies to wheat and rye. I am now learning how to cook and bake for my family in this Glutien Free way. Thank you for all of the great tips!
