WholeVine Gourmet Award Winning Gluten Free Cookies Review-Giveaway

You may have read my recent blog post on one particular Girl Scout council selling gluten-free cookies. The manufacture of those cookies is WholeVine. While researching them, I discovered that they make their own artisan-baked, gourmet, gluten free cookies, and I was pleasantly surprised to find their ingredients were high in protein. WholeVine sent me samples of their award winning treasures, and I must say I now have new favorite gluten free cookies!

Awards and Praise

I am not alone! All of their gluten free cookies won awards at the Sonoma Harvest Fair. Their Oatmeal California Currant Cookies were awarded a Double Gold medal, and their Chocolate-Chip Cookies brought home a Gold. In addition, their Chocolate Chocolate-Chip and Peanut Butter cookies were each awarded a Silver Medal. Wine critic and writer, Chris Macias, of the Sacramento Bee states, “These are the best gluten free cookies I’ve ever had!”

Why are they so good?

You may be wondering, what is so different about WholeVine’s gluten free cookies. The founders are two female wine entrepreneurs, located in Sonoma County, California, and they not only know wine, but they know grapes. Because WholeVine uses and sells their own gluten free flour made from the skin and seeds of grapes, especially grown for wine, their cookies bring something new to the gluten free community, a gourmet flavor. They state that “grapes don’t just come in red and white, they arrive here at WholeVine with familiar names like Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay, and more.” The grape remnants brings not only flavor to their cookies, but nutrients, as well.

Their packaging is elegant which would make great gifts, or items for gift baskets (keep in mind for the holidays). They separate each cookie with a waxed cardboard square, as you may see used to divide rows of cookies in other brands. Because their cookies are soft, this helps keep their shape, yet, they are not so soft as to break apart easily. They do not crumble upon eating. They stay together perfectly.

Gluten Free Certified

WholeVine gluten free cookies are certified gluten free by GFCO (Gluten-Free Certification Organization) a sister organization of GIG (Gluten Intolerance Group of North America). They are tested for gluten cross-contamination to be under 10ppm (parts per million), to keep those with gluten intolerance and celiac disease safe.

Carla’s Favorite

Their Sonoma-style gluten free cookies come in Oatmeal California Currant, Peanut Butter, Chocolate Chocolate-Chip, and Chocolates Chip. While they all taste delicious, I find that their Oatmeal California Current are the most moist, followed by their chocolate chip. That’s how I enjoy my gluten free cookies, soft and moist; and the flavor is superb, as well.
