I made this flan recipe on Cinco de Mayo. It is a Mexican and Spanish tradition, though you may find some slight differences in recipes. It is naturally gluten free. This is my personal version which omits sweetened condensed milk. I find it too sweet. You can easily make flan using evaporated milk only and control the amount of sugar you add. Homemade Gluten Free Sopapillas

This gluten free sopapillas recipe turned out amazing! They are crunchy on the outside and a bit chewy on the inside. I enjoy them more than the gluten sopapillas. The secret? Buttermilk! Using buttermilk creates crispy pillows of goodness.. (I got this idea from Gluten Free Indian Fry Bread Recipe. If you do not wish them to be chewy, use the Indian fry bread recipe.
