Fried Gluten Free Mozzarella Sticks Recipe

Image: Gluten Free Mozzarella Sticks Fried

My husband’s favorite junk food snack is onion rings. He’s never had fried cheese, though. So I just had to create a gluten free mozzarella sticks recipe. It’s crunchy and flavorful. If you want them to have a deeper color, use the chili powder. To make them yellow, add a bit of turmeric. You can spice them up orĀ give them an Italian flare. They make great appetizers or snacks. To provide flavor, add a bit of grated parmesan cheese. If you use the shaker kind, be sure to use a gluten-free brand such as Kraft. They’re also awesome dipped in the batter and then rolled in bread crumbs. That provides more texture. I also have a Gluten Free Cheese Sticks Recipe using bread crumbs. This one uses more of an onion ring batter. I hope you enjoy them. Continue reading “Fried Gluten Free Mozzarella Sticks Recipe”

Soft Gluten Free Flour Tortilla Recipe (Commercial Yeast-Free Naan Bread)

Image: Gluten Free Flour Tortilla Stuffed with Chicken Salad and Baby Greens

I already have a few gluten free tortilla recipes:Ā Low-Sodium Gluten Free Tortillas (my first attempt – very similar to Trader Joe’s brand – chewy and a little stiff), Gluten Free Naan Bread (so good, but is thick and calls for instant yeast), and Soft Whole Grain Gluten Free Wraps – TortillasĀ (when you use Expandex modified tapioca starch these are the best!). However, I will continue to work on a soft flour tortilla using easily accessible and natural ingredients without the use of yeast. Today, I present you with another soft gluten free tortilla recipe. Homemade Sweet Potato Chips (Naturally Gluten Free)

Image: Sweet Potato Chips

With summertime approaching, and our already warm weather, I am picturing backyard barbecues and picnics on the horizon. What better way to celebrate than with a healthier snack. Rather than reaching for processed potato chips, or expensive natural ones, you can make your own right at home. The great thing about homemade sweet potato chips is that they are lower in carbohydrates compared to regular chips. When making them at home you can use a healthier oil, as well. I use extra virgin olive oil to fry mine. What will you use? Continue reading “Homemade Sweet Potato Chips (Naturally Gluten Free)”

Toasted Hemp Seeds Recipe for Bread and Salads

Image: Toasted Hemp Seeds

If you like a little crunch and a nutty flavor in your gluten free whole grain bread, this recipe for toasted hemp seeds will be a perfect fit for you. It’s very easy to do and takes very little time. You can toast any seeds, but hemp seeds in particular need to be toasted, as they are hard seeds. Other seeds such as sesame seeds don’t need to be toasted. You can use toasted hemp seeds not only on the tops of your bread, but inside, as well. Now, get to baking some gluten free bread!

The different types of seeds to use in your gluten freeĀ bread include hemp, flax, poppy, sesame, sunflower, and pumpkin. Continue reading “Toasted Hemp Seeds Recipe for Bread and Salads”

Gluten Free Cheese Crackers

Image: Gluten Free Cheese Crackers

While no gluten are contained in these gluten free cheese crackers, they are more flavorful than some of the gluten crackers I have tasted in the past. Rolled thin and baked crisp, they make a wonderful treat. You can even use them as gluten free gold fish crackers. It is important to note that you can either control the color or the level of spice in this recipe, but not both. Turmeric and paprika are used to enhance the color, as well as carrot juice. Simply put, these gluten free crackers are crisp, flavorful, and colorful. I chose to make these crackers with cornstarch, alone, as it provides the most crispness in baked goods. Enjoy! Gluten Free Honey Graham Blondies (Egg-Free with Dairy-Free Options)

Image: Gluten Free Blondies

For the bottom layer of these gluten free blondies, or dessert bars, if you wish, I used my gluten free graham cracker recipe. I added a bit more honey and butter to soften the crust. You may add sweetened condensed milk, or for dairy-free, coconut milk and honey. After that you top it with your favorite toppings: chocolate chips, nuts, oatmeal, and/or shredded coconut. I skipped the coconut due to allergies. Of course, if you’re dairy-free you’ll use your favorite brand of dairy-free chocolate chips. I’ve listed the most popular, easy to melt brand below. Once baked and cooled, you have yourself treats for home or on-the-go! And they are made egg-free! Enjoy! Continue reading “Gluten Free Honey Graham Blondies (Egg-Free with Dairy-Free Options)”

Gluten Free Crepes (Sweet or Savory)

Image: Gluten Free Crepe

Though I already have a Gluten Free Crepes Recipe, it is flourless and high protein. Today, after a Facebook fan requested a gluten free crepe recipe, I began to crave them myself. I wanted a traditional flour crepe; therefore, I used my gluten free all-purpose flour blend recipe. Though I suggest using a blender to make crepes, they can be made by whisking by hand. The use of a blender provides a smooth batter, so they will turn out perfectly.

In case you have never made crepes, I provide the instructions on how to swirl them in the pan, for a perfect crepe. Just note that sometimes your first crepe doesn’t turn out perfectly, just as in making pancakes. It allows you to adjust the temperature of the pan. Perhaps the first one will provide you a little snack to keep you satisfied until the others are done. Enjoy!
