Traditional Gluten Free Panettone Recipe
I recently made a large-size Gluten Free Panettone (pronounced pan uh tony) in an angel food cake pan. Panettone is a rich, buttery Italian yeast-cake prepared during the Christmas season. I usually make panettone more like bread than cake as I did in the above recipe link. That version has a crunchy crust, much like homemade bread. However, I figured that many of you would prefer to have a traditional recipe with a soft, buttery texture. Continue reading “Traditional Gluten Free Panettone Recipe”
Gluten Free Sacher Torte (Sachertorte) – Rich Chocolate Cake
I used to see the word “Sacher” written so elegantly on tops of small chocolate cakes and wondered what it was made of. I grew up and got married and took my husband’s name, Spacher. I always wanted to buy a sacher just so it looked like our last name. I finally did and fell in love with them! Continue reading “Gluten Free Sacher Torte (Sachertorte) – Rich Chocolate Cake”
Gluten Free Panettone Recipe (Italian Christmas Bread)
Panettone is a sweet, light-weight, Italian bread containing dried or glazed fruit. Unlike fruitcake, it is not heavy. It contains butter, making it richer than traditional bread. I didn’t add tons of butter to this recipe though you may if you desire. I like mine to taste a little like bread versus dessert. Gluten Free Chocolate Turtles
I love chocolate turtles! I haven’t had one since about 1999. Making these homemade turtles were fun, as this was the first time I made them. There are plenty of different ways to make them. You can use chopped pecans, pecan halves, as well as whole pecans. I used roasted coffee beans for the heads, but you can use pecans. Meanwhile, enjoy these luscious candies or give them as gifts. Gluten Free Leftover Thanksgiving Sandwich
One of my husband’s favorite thanksgiving leftover sandwiches contains cranberry sauce, but adding stuffing is an extra special treat! I enjoy leftover turkey with cranberry sauce and cream cheese. It’s to die for! I hope you get a chance to try one of these ideas. We use my Gluten Free Oat Bread recipe. You can make it in the oven or a bread machine. If you’re oat intolerant, use sorghum and additional oil. Continue reading “Gluten Free Leftover Thanksgiving Sandwich”
Yam or Sweet Potato Casserole (Naturally Gluten Free)
I purchased a bag of organic yams over a week ago. Still not having used them, what better time to cook them than Thanksgiving.
I asked the produce man what is the difference between yams and sweet potatoes. He said that yams contained more moisture and sweet potatoes were stringy. That was a different answer than my previous research. However, he was incorrect. My yams were stringy. So, I used them as I would sweet potatoes and they turned out delicious! Gluten Free Thanksgiving Stuffing – Dressing with Schar Baguettes
This is my new favorite gluten free stuffing recipe. OMG! Using Schar baguettes makes it as close to my old gluten recipe for stuffing that used sourdough bread. I love it! Using fresh herbs and creamy butter brings it over the top. See the tips section on how to prepare in advance. Enjoy!
