Gluten Free Oat Milk Recipe

Homemade Gluten Free Oat Milk

While you can purchase oat milk in your local grocery store, the oats used in that milk is most likely not gluten free. Due to oats growing in fields adjacent to gluten crops and multiple other reasons, regular oats can contain up to 10% gluten. You can make your own gluten free oat milk at home. It’s easy and less expensive. I notice a quart of organic oat milk costs $3.49 at my local grocery store. You may not be able to find organic oats, but you can make a quart and  half for a little over $1.00; and it won’t contain any gum. You can also control its protein and sugar levels depending upon how many oats and the type of sweetener you use. Enjoy! Continue reading “Gluten Free Oat Milk Recipe”

Basic Basmati Rice Recipe

Fluffy Basmati Rice

I was about to make some basmati rice (Indian white rice), but was wondering if soaking rice was healthier. I already soak beans and nuts to remove enzyme blockers. In my research, I discovered soaking basmati rice, as well as others, not only removes some nutrient blockers, it makes it easier to digest. In addition, the soaking speeds up the cooking process. You’ll appreciate the rinsing process because it removes so much of the starch that it makes this a fluffy, not sticky, basmati rice recipe. I use it with my Chicken Korma Recipe. Enjoy! If you’re fortunate enough to live in the San Francisco Bay Area, then you should make this before the end of the Dungenuss crab season, between June and July. Even in Central California, we have access to some. Of course you can make this soup without the crab salad in the center. You can make a chopped vegetable salsa instead. Enjoy! Spinach Ricotta Gluten Free Dumplings

Homemade Gluten Free Spinach Ricotta Dumplings

There are a number of ways of making gluten free dumplings. There’s my Chicken and Potato Dumplings, Asian Dumplings (better known as potstickers), and now this Italian version, better known as gnocchi. However, these are lighter than my Spinach Ricotta Gnocchi. I made them for dinner tonight. They were a welcomed change. I love them atop a bed of cooked spinach, while my husband enjoyed them with marinara sauce. How you will serve them? Mmmm, how about with meatballs?
