Homemade Gluten Free Banana Liqueur

Bananas foster, which is a dessert served flambe-style (on fire) requires banana liqueur. Unfortunately, it can be extremely difficult to find gluten-free. Making your own is so easy, and you save a lot of money. Rather than using vodka, this recipe calls for rum, which is naturally gluten-free (made from sugar, not grains*). Enjoy banana liqueur in my  Gluten Free Bananas Foster Recipe or as a dessert liqueur. Continue reading “Homemade Gluten Free Banana Liqueur Recipe”

Below I list several different versions of flambe gluten free cocktails. The meaning of flambe is to add alcohol and ignite. Though alcohol is distilled which means that any gluten content should be removed, some people who are more intolerable to gluten than others may have a reaction to some alcohol. Use alcohol that you feel safe consuming. Meanwhile, enjoy this dessert-like cocktail whether you serve it as a coffee or as a liqueur. It makes a nice presentation for special occasions. I’m thinking New Year’s Eve, whether it be just the two of you, or for a party. Continue reading “Gluten Free Cocktails Flambe”

Fresh Honeydew Melon Martini (Gluten-Free)

Last Updated on

I am crazy for a fresh anything, but this fresh honeydew melon martini is a real treat!  I’ve tried a fresh watermelon martini, but this is great, too! Since I’m allergic to citrus I couldn’t add any lemon or lime juice to mine, but it will definitely give it a good flavor. I’d prefer lemon juice myself. Others add triple sec (a mixture of bitters and sweet oranges), but this recipe for a fresh honeydew melon martini did me just fine! Very chilled and frothy on top. I’ve also included a link to gluten-free vodka brands. Enjoy! Continue reading “Fresh Honeydew Melon Martini (Gluten-Free)”

Fresh Watermelon Martini

I’m a sucker for anything watermelon including watermelon beverages both with or without alcohol. And a fresh watermelon martini is one of my faves, actually any melon. Martinis are naturally gluten-free, as the vodka is distilled, which most manufacturers claim removes any gluten. You will find that some vodka brands are made from wheat, rye, barley and fortunately, potatoes. I like to play it safe and use a potato vodka, but I have only tasted two, and do not care for either unless they are mixed with a lot of something sweet. Fresh watermelon, agave and optional citrus will do the trick! Continue reading “Fresh Watermelon Martini”
