I recently developed a gluten free almond crust recipe for Answers.com (linked below) and of course I had to fill it with something delicious. This gluten free apple tart recipe has a strong almond flavor in its thick custard that surrounds that sauteed apples – just delicious! Enjoy. What makes this an easy frittata recipe is that you can use leftover to make it right on your stovetop. One night during the week, make sweet potatoes and boiled sliced carrots for dinner, making some extra for this dish. Then in a day or two, use your extra carrots and sweet potato for this dish. Stovetop cooking is perfect for summertime or any time of the year. Enjoy this Americanized version of an Italian favorite. Gluten Free Pizzelle Recipe

Gluten Free Pizzelles - Flat or Molded

A gluten free pizzelle recipe sure to make your Italian grandma proud. They’re crisp, but not too crisp to mold into your favorite shapes. Serve these little gems flat topped with custard, whipped cream, or make ice cream tacos. Another option is to mold them around a cone-shaped mild to fill with ice cream or whipped cream. You can also shape them into cups and fill with your favorite custard, mousse, or ice cream. They also make a great substitute for gluten free cannoli shells. Gluten Free Peach Pie

After receiving several requests for a gluten free peach pie recipe, I developed this recipe. My favorite way to serve is cold after firming it up in the refrigerator for a few minutes. This prevents the juice from running out. But sometimes you just can’t wait! I did this! I actually enjoyed it both ways, but it makes for a nicer presentation once firm. I’m sure you’ll enjoy this recipe. I used my new flaky gluten free pie crust recipe. For those who do not use my gluten free all-purpose flour recipe blend, you’ll be happy to know that superfine rice flour is not needed for the crust. Enjoy! Continue reading “Gluten Free Peach Pie”

Flaky Gluten Free Pie Crust Recipe (Pâté Brisée)

Flaky Gluten Free Crust Filled with Beef

Many of my Facebook followers have requested that I develop a gluten free pie crust recipe that does not call for superfine rice flour. This one turned out flakier than any other pie crust on this site. I have used it to make mini gluten free chicken pot pies, regular size, as well as a gluten free peach pie. They all turned out delicious. You will find that refrigerating the dough once rolled makes transferring the rolled out dough to the pie much easier. I have included that tip as well as another for ease in transferring the dough. Meanwhile, I hope you enjoy this recipe for many of your savory and sweet gluten free pies. You can create all sorts of fun things with this recipe: use different fruit, add fruit to the jello, tilt the glass while it’s chilling to create angled jello layers, and add vodka. I hope you all have a fun and safe 4th of July! Continue reading “Fourth of July Jello Dessert (Gluten Free)”

Gluten Free Strawberry Ice Cream Recipe

Image: Gluten Free Strawberry Ice Cream

This strawberry ice cream recipe is gluten free. Most ice cream recipes are except for the ones with addins that contain gluten. Made with old fashioned custard base, this recipe is creamy, but doesn’t freeze up as solid as many homemade ice cream recipes because of the added gum. It helps prevent crystals from forming and provides a bit of chew, just like commercial brands. You can add more xanthan gum, if desired. If strawberry ice cream is not your favorite, try another berry or fruit. Meanwhile, enjoy!  Continue reading “Gluten Free Strawberry Ice Cream Recipe”
