A naturally gluten free summertime dessert made with ice cream and espresso. Or…use coffee or chocolate liqueur.
- 2 scoops ice cream small, vanilla, chocolate, or coffee
- 3 tablespoons hot espresso (or strong coffee; or chocolate or coffee liqueur)
- 1 pinch ground cinnamon (or cocoa powder or chocolate shavings) (optional)
Place ice cream scoops in stemmed glass. Top with hot espresso. If desired, substitute the espresso with coffee liqueur for an adult version.
If desired, top with a sprinkle of cinnamon, cocoa powder, or chocolate shavings. (Traditionally, cinnamon is added, but cocoa powder is more reminiscent of tiramisu.) Serve immediately.
Use strong decaf coffee instead of espresso. This makes an evening-friendly dessert.
