The consistency of this gluten free caramel sauce is much like the hot fudge for ice cream you can purchase in jars. However you may heat it and thin it out with additional milk, if desired. It calls for my gluten free dulce de leche recipe (thick, rich caramel sauce), but you can also purchase dolce de leche already made. Hershey’s makes one that is gluten free. Once you have your dolce de leche made or purchased, this chocolate caramel sauce may be made, literally, in one minute. Someone once said that the only thing they would trade chocolate for is dolce de leche. Well, I wish they could taste this. It’s heaven on a spoon!
The most decadent chocolate sauce you'll ever eat! Rich gluten free caramel sauce with chocolate tones. So good, you'll want to eat it right off the spoon!
- 1/2 cup Gluten Free Dulce de Leche recipe
- 1/4 cup gluten-free dark, semisweet or bittersweet chocolate chips (I used Nestle's Natural Dark.)
- Place the dulce de leche in a microwavable glass bowl or mason jar; top with the chocolate chips. Microwave on high for 25 seconds; stir until all chocolate is melted. If needed, microwave on high in 10 second intervals until all chocolate is incorporated once stirred.
- If you desire a thinner sauce, warm and then add a teaspoon or so of milk, stir, and repeat until the desired consistency is achieved.
