Baked French Fries, Mozzarella and Gravy with Optional Beef Stew

Gourmet Diner Food – made healthier!

I was watching the Best Thing I Ever Ate and they explained how they made french fries with Mozzarella cheese and gravy.  Boy did they have me drooling!  In their version, the french fries were soaked to remove some starch; swirled in a bowl of fresh garlic; deep fried in duck fat once; then again 24 hours later; and topped with Mozzarella cheese and brown gravy.  I chose to make my Baked French Fry Recipe to make it lower in fat and calories, and threw in some of my beef stew with wine simmered gravy made with very lean beef with all excess fat removed.  It was heavenly!  You can even use bison.  Have fun with this one!  Add your favorite meat or leave it as is.  I’m sure the kids will love this, too! – similar to chili cheese fries, but a bit healthier!
