How to Make Simple Syrup

Use this simply syrup recipe in cocktails, homemade soda, and desserts. It's an easy way to save money instead of purchasing drink mixes.


  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup granulated sugar


  1. Place water and sugar in a small saucepan. Cook on low heat, and stir until the sugar dissolves, about 2 - 5 minutes.
  2. Once sugar dissolves, stir and continue to cook for 1 - 2 minutes. Remove from heat and cool in the refrigerator until completely cool.
  3. Store covered in a glass container for a month or more.
