If you are getting tired of the same old veggie recipes, I think you’ll appreciate this fried cauliflower recipe. It has savory flavors and a tad bit of sweetness, just enough to create a caramelized crust when it browns. It is very tasty. Enjoy!
Fried Cauliflower (Naturally Gluten Free)
A quick and easy, yet flavorful fried cauliflower recipe, for a pleasant change.
Ingredients:
- 2 Tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 Tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 head cauliflower, broken into florets (4 to 5 cups)
- 3 Tablespoons cold water
- 1 teaspoon granulated or vegan sugar
- 1/3 teaspoon ground white pepper
- Pinch of fine sea salt
- 2 scallions (green onions), whites only, sliced thinly
Instructions:
- Preheat a wok or large, deep saute pan over medium-high heat with oil.
- Add the garlic to the pan and distribute the oil.
- Add the cauliflower and toss or constantly flip with a spatula or spoon to ensure that many sides brown. Cook for about 90 seconds. Add the water, sugar, pepper, salt, and scallions. Cook for about 2 minutes and until the cauliflower is tender but still has some crunch, tossing/stirring often.
- Transfer the cauliflower to a serving bowl and serve warm.
