This gluten free appetizer was a huge hit in our house! So yummy! They disappeared before they had a chance to cool off. The chicken remains moist and the bacon is crisp. Savor the slight smokiness of paprika and sweetness of honey. I couldn’t ask for a better appetizer. This makes a great gluten free appetizer for any guest (on a gluten free diet or not), or for any special occasion. Any day could count. Right?
An amazing, easy appetizer: chicken breast pieces, dipped in honey sauce, wrapped in bacon.
Ingredients:
- 3/4 pound chicken breasts
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 4 teaspoons smoked paprika
- 10 slices gluten-free bacon
- Oil, for pan
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Coat a broiling pan with gluten-free cooking spray or oil. Cut chicken breasts into 1 to 1-1/2-inch pieces. Set aside.
- Whisk together butter, honey, and paprika in a shallow bowl. Add chicken pieces and toss to thoroughly coat.
- Wrap a piece of chicken with bacon without overlapping the bacon much. (One-third piece of bacon should be sufficient.) Cut off any excess. Seal with a wooden toothpick. Repeat with remaining chicken and bacon. Place on the prepared rack or broiling pan.
- Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes or until thoroughly cooked/no longer pink. Be careful not to overcook. Breast meat can dry out easily.
- Place oven on high broil and broil with the door open for 4-5 minutes or until bacon is crisp. Serve immediately.
Tips
Be sure to use gluten-free bacon with good flavor such as Hormel Black Label or Applegate Natural

So excited to find this. I want to make it for my bacon and chicken loving bf, whom I tease since I don’t eat either one. He’s OK with butter and honey. Maybe for Valentine’s Day?! He would love it much more than chocolate.
